Ningguang attacks and skills

• Launch Attack: Sparkling Scatter
  • Normal Attack: Fires gems that deal Geo damage. When hit, it grants Ningguang 1.
  • Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of stamina to trigger a giant gem that deals Geo damage. If Ningguang has any, unleashing a charged attack will also cause Star Jades to fire at the enemy, inflicting additional DMG.
  • Plunging Attack: Harnessing Geo's power, Ningguang dives to the ground from the air, damaging any opponents in his path. Inflicts AoE Geo damage on impact with the ground.
• Elemental Skill: Jade Screen
  • Ningguang creates a jade screen from gold, obsidian, and his great opulence, dealing AoE Geo damage.
    • Blocks the opponent's projectiles.
    • Stamina scales based on Ningguang's max HP.
  • The Jade Screen is considered a geographic construct and can be used to block certain attacks, but cannot be scaled. Only one jade screen can exist at a time.
  • Spawns 3 elemental particles when it hits at least 1 target.
• Elemental Explosion: Star Shards
  • Collecting a large number of gems, Ningguang scatters them all at once, sending homing projectiles at his opponents which deal massive Geo damage.
  • If Starshatter is cast when a Jade Screen is nearby, the Jade Screen will fire additional Gem Projectiles at the same time.

Passive talents of Ningguang

• Backup plan
  • While Ningguang is in possession of Star Jades, his Charged Attack does not consume Stamina.
• Strategic reserve
  • A character who passes through the Jade screen will receive a 12% Geo damage bonus for 10s.
• A treasure trove of wonderful treasures
  • Displays the location of nearby ore veins (Iron Ore, Tin Ore, Crystal Ore, Magic Crystal Ore, and Silver Star) on the minimap.

Ningguang's damage is pure Geo, and unless you fill your team up with other Geo characters (for good Geo superiority), she doesn't quite fit into a supporting role in Genshin Impact. For this reason, you'll want to build Ningguang as a single target damage dealer, although his first constellation will grant him solid AoE damage. You'll want to focus on Attack Percentage / Geo Damage and then Crit Rate and Critical Hits. HP isn't a bad fourth stat since Jade Wall decreases Ningguang's health, but he shouldn't be prioritized.

Weapons that work well with Ningguang are catalysts that increase his elemental brilliance or overall damage. If you'd rather roll for high-end 5-star weapons in Genshin Impact, Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is a good choice, but you'll want Dust Memory if you're using it alongside another Geo Character that can generate shields (namely Zhongli). The 4-Star Solar Pearl is a fantastic catalyst for Ningguang, but it's currently only available through the Battle Pass (although it should soon end up in the Weapons Banner). The Amber Prototype is a usable 4-Star Catalyst that can be crafted by the Blacksmith with a Prototype Catalyst Reagent, and it will work until you can replace it with one of the aforementioned weapons.

• Prayer Lost to the Holy Winds: Increases movement speed by 10%. In combat, gain 8% elemental damage every 4s. Max 4 batteries. Lasts until the character falls or leaves combat. Secondary: critical rate.
• Dust Memory: Increases shield strength by 20%. Hitting opponents increases attack by 4% for 8s. Max 5 batteries. Can only occur once every 0,3 s. When protected by a shield, this attack boost effect is increased by 100%. Secondary: Attack.
• Sun Pearl: Normal attacks increase damage from Elemental Skills and Elemental Blasts by 20% for 6s. Likewise, Elemental Skill or Elemental Shatter hits increase normal attack damage by 20% for 6s. Secondary: critical rate.
• Prototype Amber: Using an elemental explosion regenerates 4 energy points every 2s for 6s. All party members will regenerate 4% health every 2s during this time. Secondary: HP.

The artifacts for Ningguang are quite simple. Since its damage is mostly Geo, the two-piece bonus of the Archaic Petra set is excellent when paired with the Noblesse Oblige or Gladiator's Finale two-piece bonuses. You'll want Noblesse Oblige on Gladiator's Finale, since Ningguang's Elemental Burst is a great way to quickly burn bosses, but Gladiator's Finale is much easier to get in Genshin Impact.
