How To Fix Valorant Cannot Launch Error

Before we dive into the solutions, let's go back and see what the problem is. Riot released a new patch for Valorant on Thursday, June 4, with fixes for a variety of issues found after its full launch. This update however Valorant cannot be started with this error - a bug that has affected many.

Users have Reddit and Twitter to look for an answer to this issue, and some have provided screenshots of the error message that also appears. Those who encounter the bug will have seen a message that says "Valorant cannot be launched with your current compatibility mode settings. Fortunately, there are a few easy solutions. The latest patch seems to make Valorant incompatible with your Windows login and only allows users to access it if they are the administrator of the computer they are using.

The first thing to try is to enable the “Run as administrator” setting on Valorant. To do this, right click on Valorant's shortcut on the desktop. Select Properties and click on the tab labeled Compatibility. Uncheck the "Run as administrator" box, then Apply. Try restarting Valorant and that should fix this problem.

If that doesn't work - or if you don't have a shortcut icon - go to Riot Games Valorant live Valorant.exe in your Riot Games folder. Uncheck the "Run as administrator" box here using the same method above and restart your computer. Once everything is loaded, try loading Valorant.

If these options fail, you will need to contact the Riot support website. You can file an error ticket here, then you will have to wait for a response. It might end up being a problem on their client side and if enough people can't fix it, they'll have to fix it again.
