Valve has released the latest update to Counter-Strike Global Offensive, in an effort to tackle one of the game's lingering issues - cheaters. Trusted Mode aims to reduce cheaters by preventing any third-party apps that may interact with the game from running while players are in-game. While Trusted Mode simply adds an extra layer of security, it costs a ton overhead. performance, as many players have pointed out. Fortunately, there is a way to fix this problem.
If you are facing drops in FPS while gaming, there are two solutions to resolve this issue. Since many gamers worry about receiving a VAC ban when patching their game, it should be noted that neither of the two patches change the game files, so there is no way to get banned. VAC for the use of the solutions mentioned below. Here are the two ways to fix your in-game FPS issues.
Change your mouse polling rate
Many users have reported that the mouse poll rate has an effect on the FPS you get in the game. FPS issues that appeared after updating the trust mode will likely be resolved if you reduce polling your mice from 1000 Hz to something between 150 and 500 Hz. However, there is a catch. Changing your mouse poll rate can ruin your goal and you will have to adjust to the new settings. Whether this fix works for you, it ultimately depends on your preference as to whether you want better performance or whether you want to stick to your usual mouse settings.
Disable secure mode
If the above solution doesn't work for you, unfortunately the only way around is to turn off trust mode. You can do it by following the given steps: -
- Open Steam
- Right click on CS: GO and click Properties
- Click on Set launch options
- Enter -is not approved in the field and press OK
This will disable Trusted mode and you should be able to play the game without any performance issues. However, it should be noted that you will no longer be able to play on VAC secured servers if you are not using Trusted mode, and secondly, your trust factor will also be reduced. This is quite disappointing because a reduced trust factor can significantly hamper your matchmaking experience.
