Zinogre is an extremely powerful Fanged Wyvern who made his first appearance in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, and now he's back in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. Zinogre increases his brute strength and speed with electricity-based attacks, making him an extremely dangerous target. Even tracking him down in Iceborne in the first place is quite a challenge, so don't plan to hunt Zinogre anytime soon, unless you're already near the end of the game.
Unlock Wyvern Fanged Analysis in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
To even begin the process of fighting Zinogre, you must have already beaten the main campaign. Much like the base game Monster Hunter World, Iceborne Zinogre is found in a large part. Once the story is over, return to Seliana and talk to the Field Team Leader until you have a chance to follow them to the Elders Recess. Play through the introduction to this area with the manager, and you'll get a first look at Zinogre - but only in a cutscene.
Each time you return to the Guiding Lands after your first sighting of Zinogre Iceborne, you will see that you have a new task: Fanged Wyvern Analysis. Completing this progress bar will allow you to take Electrifying Zinogre for real. However, it also takes a long time.
Unlock Zinogre in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne
There are three known ways to advance in Fanged Wyvern's analysis: smashing parts of monsters, killing or capturing monsters, and investigating traces of the turf war.
The most reliable way to progress in finding Zinogre is by smashing monster pieces in the Guide Lands. The first time you remove part of a monster in this area, you level up your Fanged Wyvern scan. Note that this only works once per monster, but you will gain twice the progress by breaking parts of other Fanged Wyverns.
Once you've smashed part of a monster, you can capture or kill it for a chance to progress Fyver Wyvern's analysis. Each time you do this, you have the option of increasing your progress or giving yourself new leads to follow, but it is not guaranteed. If you really want to find Zinogre as quickly as possible, it's probably best to skip this step and move on after you've broken part of a monster.
Finally, you can look for traces around the area identified as "signs of turf war". Like killing or capturing monsters, this will automatically increase your progress or spawn new trails to follow. These signs will appear throughout the area, but they always appear in the same spot, so write it down if you find one to come back to later.
When your Fanged Wyvern scan has reached its maximum, you can finally face Zinogre. All you have to do is return to camp and share your findings with the manager, who will give you the choice of which region to attract him to. At this point, you will be able to fight in the area you have chosen. While you are there, examine the traces left so that you can open investigations to fight again.
Now that you've unlocked the battle, you're ready for the much more difficult task of taking down the Zinogre in Monster Hunter World: Iceborne!
