Pokémon Sword and Shield comes with a variety of Pokémon roaming the wild area along with useful evolutions. Although you can sometimes find these evolutions and ignore the previous forms, you can create one from level one to optimize its stats. A useful Pokémon for knowing how to evolve is Chrysapile and make it into a Lucanon.
Before you can think of the evolution of Chrysapile, you have to find one. You can find its first evolution, Larvibule, in the Wilderness at the ruins of the Watchtower, Dappled Grove, and North Lake Miloch during a rainy day or during a thunderstorm. You have a decent chance of finding one in the Sleeping Weald and on Route 1 during the first part of the game, but its level is low, which could be very useful for aspiring coaches at the start of the match. You can find Chrysapile in Coupenotte's Eye when it rains, and in Dusty Bowl and Hammerlock Hills during a thunderstorm.
Now, when you have a Chrysapile, you are ready to go to work on acquiring a Lucanon. To turn him into such, you have to make him fall in love with him. You can find a thunderstorm everywhere in Sword and Shield. Notable places include the duo Digging in the wilderness to dig up one for 500 watts.
You can also find one in the North Lake Miloch Wilderness area. This is the Poké Ball found at the top of the hill east of the bridge. Go ahead and look for a small cliff that looks towards the big tower in the distance.
When you're ready, donate your Chrysapile Thunderstone, and you should see it evolve into Lucanon in no time.
