New areas in Dead Cells means the chance to meet reimagined enemies that you must face. However, it also means the introduction of new bosses. Mama Tick is a boss you face The Bad Seed DLC for Dead Cells. You meet her at the end of the new DLC, which you can access once you have the Dilapidated Arboretum key.
Fighting Mama Tick is no easy task. You fight her in the Nest Zone of The Bad Seed DLC. The battle begins when you see these tall purple vines springing from the water with one little eye pointed at you. Rush towards the eye and start damaging it. When you do, the exclamation marks will start to come out of the ground, a large jagged arm comes out of the water and belongs to Mama Tick. You want to avoid exclamation marks while damaging the eye as much as possible. After enough damage, the eye will return to the water.
There is a point where you have to dodge the arms that shoot out of the water while the eye is hiding, and your only warning is the exclamation marks. You can dodge them, or if your timing is perfect and you have a shield, you can parry them. When you do about a quarter of the damage to Mama Tick, she emerges completely from the water showing you her many eyes.
Mum Tick has two long, jagged arms in front of her when she is on one side of the screen. You want to attack its main body, but avoid those legs when they reach out to attack. You should see the underside of the jagged blades light up orange before they strike, giving you time to parry or dodge. She has a basic attack that lets you dodge, but also one that shoots under you, just over water. There is a white stream above the surface of the water just before it sends them out. She only sends one of her arms at first, but gradually escalates into two, then three attacks. Another attack you need to watch out for is when she lifts both of her arms as they glow orange and begins to shoot them down in front of her. You can't dodge it and instead you have to go to the other side of where it is to protect yourself.
Eventually, Mama Tick will return to the water and her arms will return to either side of the screen to trap you. You must dodge his arms again, using the exclamation marks to indicate when you must dodge or parry.
When you beat Mama Tick, she blows up with plenty of loot to grab. When you first defeat her, she should drop a two-handed Scythian blueprint. When you come back to beat her on more difficult difficulties, she should drop the Giant Tick outfits for you.
