Some bugs in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will run away from you when you get close to them. You want to make sure you capture them, and if they notice you, they'll run away. You can catch them by sneaking around with your net.
To start sneaking up, take your net out of your inventory and hold it. From there, hold down the A button and your character will lower into a defensive position. Whenever you move them forward while you are in this position, they move forward slowly, paying attention to how they move forward all the time. When you let go of the A button to go wild with your net, so make sure you are close to the bug when you let go of the button. You want to use this mechanic whenever you're trying to catch some of the game's more stubborn bugs.
You can practice this technique any time you want to try it. Insects like the butterfly are extremely easy to catch, so you don't have to worry about scaring them off at the start of the game. Later, however, you want to use the technique whenever you encounter a new bug that you don't. have not yet added to your collection. You don't have to worry about it, but it's good to know how to use it rather than watching your potential catch slip away from you because you were too impatient.
Finding bugs is essential, so remember to be patient when attempting to move them around your museum. If you already have some, feel free to sell them to Tommy or Timmy for additional bells.
