The final battle in DLC topic 2923 in Remnant: From the Ashes pits you against Harsgaard. This dreaded root monstrosity was probably a man before joining the root. This is the last fight you have before it's over for good, and it's a two-part battle that gives you a new primary weapon in the Endgame.
Harsgaard's weak point remains the same with every encounter - aim for the slit in the middle of his head to do the most damage. We also found using weapons with a faster rate of fire and the Fire Mod to be the best to use in this fight. The second phase of the battle requires you to use a required weapon each time.
Defeat Harsgaard
The first fight against Harsgaard is pretty straightforward. The creature pulls these small orbs on the ground and sends them from its starting position. These orbs hurt you if you touch them, but there are small cracks in their formation that you can walk through without doing anything by shooting the creature. You can casually dodge them by moving left and right while shooting the boss.
Once you have damaged Harsgaard enough, a small ring forms around it. The ring starts out small but expands outward, damaging you if you touch a small part. When you see it go up in the air on its first change, load it forward and roll underneath as it expands. You should have enough time to move before it lands behind you. If you're far enough from Harsgaard, you don't have to run until the second ring has advanced.
When you reduce Harsgaard to half his health, he gets on all fours and tries to rush at you, sliding his arms against you. You want to keep your distance from the creature, but it's exceptionally good at filling in the gaps. Wait for him to get closer, prepare to strike, then dodge to the left or right. You should be able to anticipate when and in what direction he is about to hit you based on the movement of his arm. Other attacks in this form include crystals coming out against you, spectral arms slamming on the ground, and Harsgaard rushing forward, trying to grab you.
The spectral arms on the back of Harsgaard can point upward to fire a barrage of missiles at you. All you have to do is dodge them shortly after you see the attack coming. You should be able to dodge them, but it can be annoying, depending on what's going on in the middle of the fight.
Battre Harsgaard Root Harbinger
After defeating Harsgaard, the next phase of the fight features a much larger version of him from across the room. Now the crystals are in front of Harsgaard and his arms are on either side of it. The arms can launch disruptive explosions at you, and the crystals, when energized, can shoot great beams of fire at you. When you see the crystals charging, dodge them and stand in front of the one that isn't charging to shoot. If they're all charging, dodging every time they shoot prevents you from taking damage.
When the spectral arms fire a wave-like explosion on the ground, rush across the room. These attacks regularly degrade your health over time and you should stay away from them as much as possible. Wave-shaped explosions can occur on the right or left side of the room. Sometimes these attacks can happen when the crystals release several of the destructive energy balls that appeared at the start of the first fight, so you have to dodge those two attacks.
The main thing about the two fights against Harsgaard is your dodge. If you dodge too soon, the more likely you are to take a hit from the attack. You have to patiently wait for the attack to almost reach you to avoid the most damage.
When you beat the fight, you receive the weapon you received in the middle of the battle and a good chunk of the junk for your problem.
