Now that Pokémon Café Mix isn't just a single player affair and teams are bursting onto the scene, it's a good idea to know where to start if you want to build your own team.
Here's how to be a good team captain in Pokémon Café Mix.
Start a team
Now that the team update is live, there is a new icon on the main screen. To the left of the main menu log there is now a team icon. You can click on it to find a team to join or create your own. If you want to be the captain, you will create a new one.
Creating a team will automatically assign you the captain, but it's not free. Starting a team will cost you 300 gold acorns. But don't worry, if your squad hits 20 players, you'll get 10 Golden Acorns in the promotional event and only need one new member to break even.
Nomination and recruitment
The name you give your team is important, because even if you end up on the main page, it is likely that people will find your team by searching for keywords or phrases.
Your team can have up to 10 characters and can be anything like “Ditto Fans”, “Hardcore” or “Food Lovers”. So you can find like-minded people to join your team.
You can also set requirements and options for your team:
- Membership requirement. Here you can select the number of levels that a player must have beaten to be part of your team. Choose a high number if you want stronger players.
- Public-private. Choose whether or not your team will appear in the search. Unless you give yourself your Team ID online, you'll want to be public to find other members.
- Require approval. It changes whether players can join with a join button or request to join with a request button that only you can approve as a team captain.
- Play Style Phrases. Choose 3 phrases that express the type of team you are. From "everyone is welcome" to "do everything!"
To resign
If you decide you no longer want to be the team captain, you can assign it to someone else in the party, although it's best to give it to someone you have issues with. contacts outside of the game as there is currently no in-game team chat.
