The goal of the Mountain View company is to transform Google Pay into a real digital wallet, in order to lighten the load of the pockets during the day. The idea is substantially identical to that had by Apple with the “Passbook” app on iOS 6, later called “Wallet”. The aforementioned service therefore appears as a sort of container for: payment cards, coupons, boarding passes, event tickets and loyalty cards. Today we will focus mainly on this last point and we will help you understand how to register all loyalty cards within the Google Pay application.
All the ways to add loyalty cards to Google Pay
Loyalty cards can be added to Google Pay following two different operations, even if the second that we will illustrate turns out to be slightly more limited. The first procedure describes the steps to take within the payment application itself.
- Open the Google Pay application
- Access the tab “Pass” bottom right
- Click on the button “+ Pass” in blue
- Choose to insert a "Loyalty program"
- Search and select the desired store
- Scan the barcode (or QR) or possibly enter it manually
The second method instead is directly linked with the Gmail account. By activating the option "Import from Gmail", present in the side menu under the heading "Settings" and then "General", the two applications will begin to communicate with each other and as soon as Google Pay manages to identify a new loyalty card, it will recognize it and insert it in the same panel “Pass” which we talked about earlier.
