Preliminary operation
Before you discover the steps to follow to add a nickname to a contact, you must first make sure that yours iPhone is set to prefer i nickname where available.
To do this, carefully follow the steps listed below:
- Press ongear icon present on the home screen of iOS to open the Settings, press on Contacts and press on the item Short name.
- At this point, make sure the switch next to Prefer nicknames is enabled. If not, tap it to activate it.
How to add nickname to contacts on iPhone
Once the option has been successfully enabled through the Settings, you can now assign a nickname to your favorite contacts in a very simple way.
Let's find out how to do it:
- Grab yours iPhone, open theContacts app and scroll through the list or use the field Search present at the top to locate the name to which to add the nickname.
- Once found, press on, tap on Modification at the top right and press on the item add field in blue.
- Through the proposed menu, choose Nickname and fill in the field that appears at the top (under Your name e Last name) with the nickname a favorite.
- Complete the operation by simply tapping on end top right.
In case of second thoughts, you can delete the nickname by accessing the screen Modification, pressing on the field of the nickname, tapping on the X which appears on the right and confirming the changes by pressing on end.
