Google Home is now one of the most used and well-known home automation devices in the city. The smart speaker of the Mountain View company looks like the starting point for any smart home and as such, it must respect the fees and habits of users. The microphone of the device is in fact always ready to receive a request after having received the activation command, while the cash desk has the objective of fulfilling the request through precise and timely answers.
However, requests can arrive at any time of the day and the answers come promptly with a static volume, unless the user first goes to modify it. This could, in certain cases, cause a lot of annoyance, since the volume (typically higher) used at 16:00 in the afternoon does not coincide with the preferences we would like to have at 23:00, a time when someone else in the house may already be resting. . So the “Home” application comes to our aid with night mode.
Turn down the volume of Google Home at specific times
In this article we will therefore go to see how to activate the night mode e "force" Google Home to respond with a lower volume and a dimly visible LED brightness at specific times and days. This function is quite customizable, but first of all you must proceed with the activation.
- Open the application "Home"
- Click on the icon of the smart speaker concerned
- Continue by entering the device settings (gear icon at the top right)
- Select "Night mode" and activate the toggle
Once this is done, numerous settings will appear to be modified in a completely personal way. In fact, it will be possible to indicate: the period of time in which to use the lower volume, the days of the week and the brightness level of the LEDs and the volume same. There is also the possibility to activate the "Do not disturb", capable of silencing any type of notification (reminder, timer and more) during the time range indicated above. In case you decide to deactivate the night mode, all settings will remain in memory and ready to be reused.
