Valorant's closed beta will kick off on April 7, allowing users to experience the game's 5v5 tactical first-person shooter. Space is limited to players from Europe, Canada, USA, Turkey, from Russia and CIS countries. There are plans to roll out the beta to other regions if all goes well.
When does the closed beta start?
The Valorizing Closed Beta begins April 7 on PC and goes live at 14:00 p.m. CET / 6:00 a.m. PST.
How to access the closed beta
If you are in the above regions, follow these steps.
- Sign up for a Riot account
- Link your Riot account to a Twitch account
- When the closed beta is activated in your region (EU and NA for now), watch the specific VALORANT closed beta feeds highlighted on Twitch.
The exact number of players who will have access is pending at the moment, and that seems to be the true definition of a beta, where half the job will be knowing exactly how the servers respond to all of those players.
No date has been given or when the beta could end, except for the fact that Riot is hoping to make it a short one. Progress made during the beta will not be reflected in the game upon release, and any value points, premium in-game currency, that you purchase during the beta will be refunded, along with a 20% bonus. as a thank you to the developers for their commitment to the game.
One thing Riot has yet to reveal is how we're supposed to know which streams to watch. On the first day of the beta, that will mean pretty much all of them, as we're assuming only approved streamers will get access to the game, and watching them is the way you'll hopefully get in.
As soon as Riot releases more details, we'll update this article accordingly.
