As we get closer and closer to the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War on November 13, we'll have our first hands-on experience during beta. If you're desperate to get into beta to see if Treyarch can continue the series rebirth that Call of Duty has enjoyed, then there are two ways to do it. You should also be aware that there will be open betas for the game, but if you want this early access you will either have to invest in the game or be lucky.
Pre-Orders
If you pre-order a digital version of the game, you'll get automatic access to the beta, so if you want to take a leap of faith, you can guarantee entry.
Discord
If you don't want to take the risk of pre-ordering, you can join Treyarch's official Discord where they'll give out beta keys for all platforms. This is part of a National Video Game Day event, but we imagine it will continue from now until the start of the various betas. They also gave out codes during Call of Duty League matches, so you can always log in and hope the same will happen again.
When is the beta?
Because nothing can ever be simple, there will actually be a range of different betas, and some of them will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4.
PlayStation Exclusive:
- October 8-9 Early Access PS4
- October 10-12 PS4 Open Beta
Bêta cross-play:
- October 15-16 Xbox + PC Early Access / PS4 Open Beta
- Oct 17-19 Open on all platforms
Keep in mind that a pre-order of any digital version of the game will get you access to the early access betas, so you'll have a few extra days of fun before everyone can participate in the open betas.
