Welcome to our roundup of the Heroic Magic Duel Colossus Awakening event. Here we are going to talk about the new features that this event brings to us. We will mainly focus on the new mechanics of the Colossus, as well as the best cards and spells for this Heroic Duel of Magic event. Let's get started!
At the start of each match in the Colossus Awakening event, a Colossus will be present in the center of the middle lane. The first player to deal enough damage to the Colossus will earn it. He will become an ally and start heading towards the opposing player's portal until he kills him and control changes hands. In this case, the neutral Colossus will start at level 1, but he will gain additional levels each time he dies. Each level will increase its size, movement speed, and health. Additionally, whenever the Colossus dies, it deals damage to all minions around it, which is high enough to instantly kill any creatures with poor health. Once the Colossus reaches level 6+, it becomes almost unstoppable. The purpose of this event is to “escort” the Colossus to your opponent's portal, then it will activate, instantly destroying the portal, regardless of its health. Victory can also be achieved normally by pushing the side corridors and attacking the portal there. Note that for this event, each portal will have improved its health, almost 3 times more than in the arena match. The Colossus is immune to all spells and special abilities, including the most useful.

Lord Sumrak
In this case, players will often fight for control of the middle lane, almost ignoring the other two and this is the ideal situation for Lord Sumrak, since he can elevate all enemies in his track and ram them into the ground, dealing damage to them. and stun them in the process. This is great because it will usually affect a lot of minions, and it will also give your Colossus some time to move forward when enemies are knocked out or just hanging in the air. In the end, Lord Sumrak is certainly the most useful card for this event.
Guardian of nature
Great for the same reasons as Lord Sumrak: mass stun, mass damage, time saver, and good health.
Leech soul
As we said before, in this event the Colossus deals damage every time it changes masters. With more damage and more minions growing in a single lane, we'll likely see more minions die than in arena matches and that's great news for Soul Leech.
Ravenous plague
Little guys shouldn't be used to push the middle lane, as they will die anytime someone takes over the Colossus, and most spells will be targeted in their lane. However, they can push in side lanes very well, distracting your opponent and forcing them to place Lord Sumrak / Nature Guardian in side lanes which should give the center an advantage. Overall it's not a good idea to ignore the multiplied plague as they can cause serious damage even with increased portal health.
Abomination
Great at the end of the game. He can quickly kill the Colossus and is a good choice for escorting him to an enemy portal. The abomination will survive any spell and cause massive damage.
Fearless leader
Well, whenever there is a one-way push, we can expect to see a fearless leader, as his ability to "Inspire" can be of great help in this situation.
