DOTA UNDER FIRST REVIEW

Dota Underlords mobile game beta has been around for quite some time now, and a major patch has been added every day. The game features all of the original licensed Defense of the Ancients heroes, along with items, mechanics, hero talents, animations, and visuals. His goal is to satisfy the need of the massive DOTA 2 online community for a mobile game to occupy him in his spare time, while he is not playing the game himself.

However, the game then apparently took a more serious approach to the whole. situation and incorporated a different approach to the whole MOBA genre. It was not ported to mobile as a MOBA, nor as a hero collector, although it was about collecting, i.e. purchasing the desired heroes and managing the their objects. This game in its entirety is an Auto Chess extravaganza, a genre that has recently taken off. If you don't know what this is, the most accurate description would be that this is a real-time strategy based on characters and licensed content.

Development

The DOTA Underlords release date for the Open Beta was open. On June 20, the game quickly passed its first million downloads. This is even more impressive when we consider that it currently requires over 700MB of storage space. It is developed and published by Valve Corporation because they did not want to let anyone claim responsibility for their baby. As has been mentioned, the game has been constantly updated since the start of the Open Beta and the download space required decreases as Valve becomes more familiar with all of the mobile porting and other elements.

gameplay

To be described as an automatic chess game doesn't do this game justice, or maybe it does, but you need to understand what it is first of all. This game is all about preparation and knowledge of its inner workings, just like the original. You have to get to know all the heroes, how they behave, what bonuses they bring, and how well they do in a team with other particular heroes. Once the round has started, it is too late to make any changes and you need to make the most of your time.

Heroes are divided into levels 1-5 and some cost less while others cost more. But that doesn't matter right now as having a well-balanced squad is crucial. A team of all level 5 heroes will not necessarily bring victory. Heroes also have different roles and passive bonuses that they bring, so it is necessary to carefully consider the project.

Right now, up to 8 players can compete against each other in multiplayer mode, but you can also play solo against the AI, player 7 NPCs. This feature is very important as it now allows DOTA Underlords to be played solo. Each of the participants has a pool of 100 HP and you all participate in a series of battles between them. Defeating means you'll take a certain amount of damage, depending on which hero the winning team left standing after completing it. Whoever reaches 0 is defeated, the last man standing wins.

Between each round, you have 60 seconds of break time to buy new heroes or to sell existing heroes. You are also rewarded with a certain amount of gold depending on your success. There are also loot rounds where you fight off the mobs of the camps found in the official DOTA 2 map.

Visuals

Dota Underlords for Android and iOS does the original game justice, in terms of models, hero art, atmosphere, maps, and all. It sounds like exactly what DOTA is supposed to look at if you were to port it to mobile and change your perspective. The skills and animations of the heroes are the same. How heroes use their skills and abilities is now determined by their type and stash. Heroes will activate some of their skills at first, while others will need their mana pool to recharge.

Verdict

Dota Underlords mobile game is a good way to transfer it to mobile devices without making it up. it's just another MOBA. In all fairness, games of the MOBA genre as serious as this one can't be ported without losing some of the functionality, cutting the game short, and revamping a bunch of things. Instead, Valve decided to give it a completely different genre, but still keeping its appeal, lore, and signature gameplay elements. This game is just as exciting as the original game when you win a round and it is even more devastating when you lose. Seeing Defeat written on your screen will undoubtedly increase your adrenaline and anger levels.
