Gold weapon skins are currently only multiplayer, but the developers have discussed their intention to make these skins available in the campaign as well! The skins are for the pistol, assault rifle, shotgun, and sniper rifle - all of our favorite simple Covenant destruction tools.
You will find these challenges under Seasonal tab Rewards Center. They won't last forever, so you'll want to unlock those suckers soon. Here's how to do it.

How to Earn Seasonal Gold Weapon Skins Quickly
To unlock the Gold skins, you will have to gain a lot of casualties. You'll have to use each specific weapon to score wins - and it takes a lot of wins to earn each one. You can earn mode kills, but just replaying the campaign levels is pretty slow. Here are the four challenges.
- Pistolet d’or: 500 gun kills
- Gold assault rifle: 300 killed by assault rifle
- Gold shotgun: 150 killed with shotguns
- Gold sniper rifle: 150 snipers killed
The easiest way to earn all of these wins? Custom firefights - this should be obvious, as fire fighting is the fastest way to start fighting enemies, but there are several ways to make grinding even easier. You'll want to start by designing your own custom firefighting forge modes; it's very simple and you will only have to swap a few factors.
First, make sure you start with a Loading the pistol / assault rifle and one Loading the shotgun / sniper rifle. You need a lot more pistol / assault rifle shots so it's best to combine them.
- Mutators to add:
- Give yourself all the bonuses and benefits you can get. Give your weapons infinite ammo, have enemies kill in one hit, increase player speed, reduce gravity for easier jumps, and more.
You will always want play on Heroic or Legendary - there is a chance you would die on Legendary, so I heroic recommend therefore more enemies appear. Use your custom gear and simply bombard each enemy with each weapon until you've completed the individual challenge.
Even with all of these changes, it takes a long time to score all of these wins. It will take between 40-60 minutes for each skin, but it's still the fastest possible way. I also recommend playing solo so you don't have to deal with friends stealing all of your victims.
And that is really it. The best card to play on is Corvette, just because it's so small, but you can play on any map. If you're tired of looking at all that Covenant purple, I recommend the classic Beachhead as well.
