Fortunately, the drone isn't a configurable item in your inventory, like some of the grenades, bombs, and other passive abilities you can access. Each character has access to a drone. When you want to summon it, all you need to do is press "X" or click the button associated with your controller for your respective platform and you will summon it. You can use the drone to ping your respective enemies and scan them, hovering over them. The pings create a small marker above their head and any information you read about them will be sent to your allies. You can use it to help your partners who sneak into a base and try to eliminate any guards that might get in there.

For those who want to get a quick overview of the area in a safe way, you can treat the drone like a pair of binoculars. Any question mark you see in the distance can be scanned by the drone. All you have to do is focus your field of view on it for a few seconds, and then you will be given information about the location. You'll need to get there to learn more about the layout and enemies, but you'll get the name of the location.

You will not be able to use the drone over great distances. You will lose connection if you let it fly too far. You will need to adjust your position or that of the drone to stay close to you.

Unfortunately, you can't use the drone to take out enemies or call in allies like you did before. Wild lands. Instead, you'll need to use a separate item, the Drone Sync Shot, which we detail here. You will also need to spend a skill point to unlock it.

Make sure to optimize your drone and keep it above your enemies. If you let it go on too long or someone notices it will take it out and then go on alert. Better to make sure you're not too far behind enemy lines when they find it, otherwise you're in trouble.
