Genshin Impact Xiao Character Guide

Xiao is a 5-star character wielding Anemo and Polearm, and he uses character ascension material (Juvenile Jade) which is acquired from the new world boss coming in Genshin Impact Version 1.3, the Elder Geovishap. It's that annoying Liyue geo-lizard, but bigger. He appears to be a big damage dealer, but until launch, we're not quite sure which artifacts and weapons will prove to be best for him. This guide will be updated to include the recommended artifacts, weapons, and stats once it's out in the wild for players to shoot.

Since this information was not officially confirmed at the time of its publication (it is all from the closed beta), all that may change by the time Xiao debuts. As I have already noted, optimal gear and stats will be added to this guide once Xiao is on the live servers.

Xiao's attacks and abilities

• Melee: Whirlpool
  • Normal Attack: Perform up to 6 consecutive throws.
  • Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to perform an up push.
  • Plunging Attack: Dives from the air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the way and dealing area damage on impact. Xiao does not take damage while performing diving attacks.
• Elementary Skill: Lemniscatic Wind Cycling
  • Xiao rushes forward, dealing Anemo damage to opponents in his path.
  • Can be used in the air.
  • Start with two charges.
• Elemental Blast: Bane of All Evil
  • Xiao dons the garment that made gods and demons tremble millennia ago.
    • Greatly increases Xiao's jump ability.
    • Increases its attack zone and attack damage.
    • Converts attack damage to Anemo damage, which cannot be negated by any other elemental infusion.
    • In this state, Xiao will continuously lose HP.
    • This skill's effects end when Xiao leaves the field.

Xiao passive talents

• Dissolution Eon: Heaven Fall
  • Using the Lemniscatic Wind Cycling feature increases damage from subsequent uses of Lemniscatic Wind Cycling by 15%. This effect lasts for 7s and has a maximum of 3 stacks. Gaining a new stack refreshes the duration of the effect.
• Conqueror of Evil: Demon Tamer
  • While under the effects of Bane of All Evil, all damage dealt by Xiao increases by 5%. Damage increases by an additional 5% for every 3 seconds the ability persists. The maximum damage bonus is 25%.
• Transcension: Gravity Defier
  • Decreases stamina consumption by members of your own party by 20%. Cannot be stacked with passive talents that provide the same effect.

Constellations Xiao

• Dissolution Eon: Destroyer of Worlds
  • Increases the charges of Lemniscatic Wind Cycling by 1.
• Annihilation Aeon: Flower of Kaleidos
  • When celebrating and not in the field, Xiao's energy recharge increases by 25%.
• Conquer of Evil: Wrath Deity
  • Increases the cycling level of Lemniscatic Wings by 3.
  • The maximum upgrade level is 15.
• Transcension: extinction of suffering
  • When Xiao's HP drops below 50%, he gains 100% Defense Bonus.
• Evolution Eon: Origin of ignorance
  • Increases the level of Bane of All Evil by 3
  • The maximum upgrade level is 15
• Conqueror of Evil: Guardian Yaksha
  • While under the effects of Bane of All Evil, hitting at least 2 opponents with Xiao's diving attack will immediately grant him 1 charge of Lemniscatic Wind Cycling, and for the following 1s, he can use Lemniscatic Wind Cycling while ignoring his CD.
