Upgrade weapons in Genshin Impact by giving them other weapons and upgrade gems.
In Genshin Impact, your weapons will increase in power and level as you upgrade them, so it's important to keep the ones you love up to date. Ancient or unwanted weapons and Enhancement Gems (found in the world or crafted at the Blacksmith) are used to upgrade weapons, so don't be afraid to loot anything you see. Once you have the materials to upgrade your weapon, enter the character menu and then select "Weapon" for the character whose weaponry you want to upgrade. From there you'll have a few options, but for now we'll focus on the “Improve” tab.
In this menu you will see a few items. First, the weapon's level and stats will be displayed at the top right, followed by the “Upgrade Materials” segment below. You can choose your materials in two ways. The first method is via “Auto Add”. It's a catch-all method, so if you have some items that you don't want to destroy, you'll want to use the second method and manually select each item for weapon upgrade via the six blocks below it. Otherwise, select the grade of materials you want to use and select “Auto Add”.
Whether you've used “Auto Add” or picked each item by hand, you'll see the potential increase in level and stats at the top, and the required “gold” (Mora, in Genshin Impact) at the bottom as “Upgrade” button. If you have the coin, you can click "Upgrade" to discard these items for the advertised boosts.
Keep in mind that the higher the level of your weapon, the higher the quality of the items you will need to discard to boost it even more effectively. In addition, there are level doors for weapons that will require an "ascension" to overcome, which will require a set amount of rare materials. The first gate is at level 20. Genshin Impact will not allow you to upgrade weapons until you pass through the Ascension Gate, so don't worry about accidentally discarding items for an upgrade. of the bunk.
