Gears 5 has a lot of new enemies to worry about. A more powerful opponent players will encounter in their campaign against the Swarm is a large and menacing Sicon known as the Guardians. These creatures wear massive, thick armor and carry with them two large maces, one for each hand. These opponents are designed to destroy all enemies against the swarm, primarily because they are designed to protect a swarm nest. Here's how you take on one of those monsters.
How To Beat The Gear Guardian 5
Weaken armor
These terrifying monsters are large and covered in armor. Unfortunately, hitting them in the body, arms, or legs won't do too much damage against them. Instead, you're going to have to find a way to remove that armor or at least weaken it. There are two ways to do this without too much trouble. The first being a fragmentation grenade. You can throw it at the Guardian's feet and see what armor is removed. You will probably find that the helmet flies most of the time.
The other way to weaken the creature's armor is to have a powerful weapon. Unfortunately, this is more circumstantial, given that you don't always have a powerful weapon nearby to fill it with insanely heavy ammo. If you do, aim for your upper body and head. You are going to do a lot of damage. If you have a frag grenade, take the helmet off first, then fill it with holes with the powerful weapon that deals even more damage.
Focus Fire
You need to focus on this bully if you want to overpower her quickly enough before she starts to knock you and your teammates down. Several teams are going to come face to face with this creature if they continue to focus on the smaller Swarm drones in the region. Although they are boring, the director is your real focus. The sooner you can remove it, the less problems you will have during the fight. You may notice that the drones will stay a reasonable distance away from you.
Keep your distance
It may seem obvious, but these two masses that the director does not hold them for the show. If you get too close, these melee weapons will seriously injure you and your teammates. The best option for you is to stay away from the manager. Use weapons like the Lancer, Longshot, Enforcer, and the Marksman Rifle to keep the distance to your advantage.
If the Guardian is focused on a single target, you might want another teammate to walk around it to light up the back of their head with a gnasher. However, it is a risk. While you deal a ton of damage to him, you leave your teammate on the verge of falling if the keeper rolls over.
Good luck fighting those big guys, COG rookies. While you will see the Guardian in the main campaign, you can expect to see the Guardian in Escape Mode in Multiplayer mode.
