WRC 9, the final racing title in the WRC franchise, will launch later this year on consoles and PC. There's a lot to do on Nacon and KT Racing's latest title, so let's go over everything we know so far about WRC 9.
When will the game launch?
WRC 9 will launch on September 3 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on the Epic Games platform. WRC 9 will also be available for the Nintendo Switch, but the game's release date has not been made public at the time of writing.
Is the game available for pre-order?
WRC 9 is available for pre-order. Two editions are available: the standard edition of the FIA WRC 9 World Rally Championship and the WRC 9 deluxe digital edition. The standard edition for WRC 9 costs $ 49,99, but comes with an added bonus, the Audi Quattro AS 1984. The Deluxe Edition for WRC costs an additional $ 10 ($ 59,99), but comes with not only a copy of the game, but also three additional cars (Audi Quattro A2 1984, Toyota Corolla 1999, Barcelona SSS) and a Career Upgrade Pack. 48 hours of early access and a three-month WRC + subscription are also included with the digital deluxe edition of WRC 9.
What will the features of the WRC 9 be?
Nacon and KT Racing, the developer of WRC 9, have touted several new features. One of these changes is the addition of three new rallies to the FIA World Rally Championship: Kenya, Japan and New Zealand.
Nacon also touted that the latest installment in the WRC franchise will have an improved career mode, as well as technical improvements. Additionally, over 50 official WRC, WRC 2, WRC 3 and Junior WRC teams and their liveries will be included, along with exclusive game modes that have yet to be revealed by Nacon.
Will the game be available for the next generation?
WRC 9 will actually be available for the next generation of consoles. While no date for the next generation of WRC 9 has yet been made public, the game will be available for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in the near future.
