The next game from Runwild Entertainment is Almighty: Kill Your Gods, an action RPG that involves slaying massive and powerful creatures, growing and protecting your tribe's home island. Here is everything we know about Almighty.
What is almighty?
Players assume the role of the Alpha of their tribe, a chosen warrior equipped with armor and magically powered gauntlets. As the Alpha, you must protect your island from enemy raids and go on a mission to kill mighty divine beings. Using the trophies acquired during these hunts, you can expand your island and craft new equipment for future missions.
From what has been shown so far Almighty, the gameplay has many layers. The action looks very Dauntless-like. Combat can be approached with a variety of tactics, and enemy players will face varying sizes and numbers, and each presents different challenges. Some are able to swallow players whole, forcing them to fight their way or perish.
Players can invade the realm of their target gods solo or in small groups, teaming up with their friends or with other random Alphas. Working with a group makes it easier to destroy the tougher gods and therefore can lead to better rewards. Speaking of rewards, players literally strip slain gods for parts, using their divine body parts as ingredients for mods and upgrades.

This is where Almighty seems to present a lot of cool MMO mechanics. By building new structures, players can manage their island's economy and defenses. Over time, players can build relationships with other islands, establish trade routes, and visit Friends' Islands to help them defend against invaders, or just wander around and enjoy the scenery. It may be overly optimistic to envision Almighty as a more action-oriented approach to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but it's fun to dream.
Almighty release date and platforms
Almighty: Kill Your Gods is supposed to be coming to “PC and consoles,” and while PlayStation and Xbox seem like safe bets, we don't yet know if Nintendo Switch will get a release. On PC, the game is distributed via Steam. There's no set release date yet, but we do know Almighty will be holding a closed beta at some point in the near future.
While you wait, you can take a look at Runwild's Official Blog which has plenty of behind-the-curtain footage and information on the game and its development.
