The Valorizing Closed Beta has started on PC. Players are getting their hands on Riot Games' multiplayer FPS game after weeks of waiting, but it won't be until summer that the game will be officially released for everyone to enjoy.
For console owners - PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One - there's the option of being able to play with PC gamers down the line. It would come through the cross-platform feature, but Riot has been quiet on that front. So is Valorant multiplatform or not?
Well, not now. Valorant is only available to play on PC and will remain so for the foreseeable future. This means that owners of PS4, Switch, and Xbox One will not be able to play it. As such, the cross-play feature will not be offered either.
Will Valorant be multiplatform?
Image via Riot GamesIt's possible. While Valorant isn't released on consoles - due to Riot not making any announcements about it - they haven't ruled it out either. As we mentioned earlier, Riot could wait until the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X hit the market before making an announcement.
This also goes for mobile, in a way. Riot has brought other titles from its catalog to mobile devices in the past. League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics have landed on smartphones, so there's every chance Valorant could do the same.
Of course, porting Valorant to other systems would require an overhaul of controls, additional server space, etc. Don't expect anything on cross-platform play for the rest of 2020 but, come 2021, who knows what might happen.
