Is it coming to Nintendo Switch or PC?
Vanillaware has been working on 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim for quite some time now, and they started full development for the game in 2015. At that point, the plan was for the game to be available on both PS4 and PlayStation Vita. However, we all know how the PlayStation Vita performed and didn't get much support for a while, which led to this version being canceled.
As a result of this cancellation, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim will not be available on PlayStation 4 until its release this week. Even with its arrival on PS4, we looked to see if there was any history that could show that it could arrive at additional platforms at a later date.
Looking at previous versions of Vanillaware, their games have been pretty consistent with their platforms. While we've seen ports and newer versions of their older games on newer platforms, they really haven't jumped between platforms and only upgraded to newer generations.
For example, Dragon's Crown was originally released on PS3 and PS Vita before coming later to PlayStation 4. Although this later version was only released in 2018, no action has been taken to bring it to Nintendo Switch as well. or PC, which were big houses for this game. One of the few times that happened was with Muramasa: The Demon Blade, which later moved from the Wii to the PlayStation Vita.
For a long time, it seems that they have been very close to PlayStation when it comes to their releases. As a result, this game does not look great at the moment to release on additional platforms. However, Atlus himself has seen the success of a game like Persona 4 Golden on Steam recently, so maybe they will help push it to other platforms. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim would definitely fit on both Nintendo Switch and PC, so hopefully that's something we end up seeing in the future.
