For all the curious gamers, we'll find out how to beat the six bosses in the game. Some bosses are epic showdowns, while others are decidedly small-scale. They are all full of surprises and you have to perform specific moves to damage them. If you don't know how to beat a boss, or just want to see what those returning enemies are up to, check out the full guide below.
Chef # 1: N. Gin
N. Gin appears with a huge robot drumming. Its combat consists of four phases - you will be stuck on dangerous platforms while small minions are sent to attack you.
To damage N. Gin during all phases, you must attack three minions to stun him. While you are stunned a timer will appear, so you have to complete the platform challenge to damage N. Gin.
The 1 phase: He sends three minions while you're stuck on a conveyor belt. Attack each minion while they charge you kamikaze.
Phase 2: Two conveyors appear and N. Gin generates explosions of energy. Jump over the green explosions and slide (or just dodge) under the red explosions. After throwing enough energy discs, it will spawn a minion. Hit three to stun him.
Phase 3: The fight becomes much more difficult here. There are three conveyors and the energy discs move much faster. Try to only use single jump jumps and try to avoid jumping as much as possible. Run to avoid the incoming green lights and only jump when you have no other choice to make this part easier.
Phase 4: N. Gin clears the stage and summons mobile platforms. Take it easy and jump on the platforms while moving left / right. Use the slide-jump to give yourself more air and reach other platforms. This is a short section, but getting all three can be difficult.
Chef n ° 2: Louise
This miniboss is the only one of its kind. You'll meet him at the end of the final level on Map 3. This giant squid monster is pretty straightforward - it summons one (or more) tentacles to attack you while razor-knives chase after you.
There are three phases here; 1 first tentacle appears, then 2 tentacles and finally 3 tentacles. To damage Lousie, lure the knife-rat minions into the tentacles while they are standing. Cut all six to end the fight.
The tentacles are slow. Watch as they pull back to avoid getting run over and use the [R2 / RT] boost to quickly escape nasty situations with the rats armed with knives.
Chef No. 3: N. Brio
N. Brio is a weird little scientist with a whole bunch of potions. It has two very distinct phases - its throwing potions phase and its super strength phase.
The 1 phase: In this phase, N. Brio stands on a platform out of reach and throws numerous explosive potions which generate purple rings of energy. Jump over the rings - stay close to the blast area and do a jump or two to stay aloft long enough.
To damage N. Brio, wait for him to throw a green potion that spawns a minion. Spin-attack the blob to send it flying over N. Brio's ugly face. You will get a checkpoint after each attack - it will generate 1 blob, then 2 blobs, and finally 3 blobs. Send them all back to start the more difficult phase 2.
Phase 2: N. Brio transforms into massive monsters when he has one health remaining. In this phase, N. Brio slowly chases you while hitting the ground, quickly generating small explosion rings. He's moving slowly, so pull him into a corner, then hug around him (with a double jump) and run to the opposite corner.
Eventually he will get tired eventually and you will gain the power of the purple mask. Transform and use your enhanced spin attack to knock him off the ledge. With 1 HP remaining, it will periodically generate a much larger and faster Energy Ring. There is a rhythm - so try to anticipate it and jump on it. Give yourself plenty of room and don't let it get in your way.
Chef n ° 4: Neo Cortex
On Neo Cortex's airship, you'll be on a large platform arena while N. Cortex launches rocket salutes at you. He has a variety of different attacks at his disposal, and this fight eventually becomes very difficult. To hurt him, wait until he deploy a rotating robot servant. When the robot feels dizzy, launch a spinning attack to send it back to Cortex.
The 1 phase: The simplest phase. Cortex launches bursts of rockets. Avoid until a rotating robot minion spawns, then attack to end the phase. Keep moving forward to avoid the rockets and you won't have any problems.
Phase 2: Cortex stops the missiles and launches energy discs. Jump over the green energy and avoid the purple energy. Violet energy is smaller, so you can avoid them by standing at the edge of a square. Use the ability to slow down time if you're already overwhelmed. You won't really need it until later.
Phase 3: For this phase, Cortex launches missiles and sends energy disks. Stand in the center and move forward slightly slowly - if you stand in neutral, you'll avoid every purple energy disk. Remember to skip the green ones and keep moving forward (slightly) to avoid the homing rockets.
Phase 4: The final phase is by far the most difficult. Most of the ground falls, rockets fall much faster, and Cortex introduces a new type of energy disc. You can slide (or just dodge) under the red energy as it appears. Gliding helps, but I prefer to slow down time, dodge, then release slow motion to let the red energy through.
Use the slow-mo liberally here. If you finish it early, you can restart it almost immediately. After two turns of red energy, the robot servant will appear. Slow down when he becomes dizzy and can be reached before a third wave of red energy begins.
Chef n ° 5: N. Tropy Twins
You will have to fight the two N. Tropies in this dimension. The time traveling goon has its sister from the alternate universe and an evil machine. Your goal is to reach the center of the movement and you will have to complete a challenge of platform challenges.
The 1 phase: Starting in space, you will have to jump on moving platforms to reach the device in the center. Using the purple mask, jump off platforms and wait as long as possible before doing a double jump to give yourself the widest horizontal distance possible. The trick with this part is just to allow you to reach the remote platforms.
Phase 2: The second phase gives you the yellow mask for slow motion. Watch the distance and try to spot slower platforms. Most of them move too fast, but if you land on the opposite side (right side for platforms moving left, and vice versa) you'll have plenty of time to slow down again and jump.
Remember that you must land on the platform before turning off idle. The platforms are so fast that they instantly pull away from you if you don't land on solid ground.
Phase 3: The final phase pits you against the N. Tropy twins. Use the mask to reverse gravity and destroy each of the red electrical conduits - you will need to retreat from N. Tropy and dodge his attacks while destroying the red conduits.
Conduits block energy attacks, so if an attack comes from behind the conduit, you can safely descend / descend and attack without having to worry about dodging the projectile. The trick is to simply move quickly and anticipate the orientation of the conduits.
You have to be quick. Keep moving and swap gravity right after attacking - you'll get a checkpoint after each lead chase phase.
Boss # 6: Le boss final
The final battle pits you against Neo Cortex again, but this time he has the masks to help him. Instead of using your bonuses, you'll have to dodge his special abilities - there's a different ability for each phase. Survive long enough, and Cortex will summon a minion who will launch tracking missiles. Attack the minion to damage Cortex. It has five phases, so let's go.
The 1 phase: In this phase, Cortex will not use any of the mask powers. You will learn the central gadget of this fight - hit the blaster turrets that generate energetic shock waves that you must jump on. Beware of the red platforms - it means they are about to fall. Jump on the turrets three times and knock out the minion to complete the first phase. Consider this as your tutorial.
Phase 2: The blue mask is the first. The platforms will disappear in sequence under you. Jump and survive until the two turrets appear. Take your time and make sure to calculate your jump so that you can jump over the energy blast while avoiding the disappearing blocks.
Phase 3: This phase begins with a simple tutorial - teaching you that red lasers are low (jump to survive) and blue lasers are high (slide to survive) - danger arises when the whole room turns over. You don't need to slide to avoid the blue lasers, just duck! Hold the duck and jump over the red lasers. Survive and the turrets will appear. You know the rest.
Phase 4: The next step is slow-mo. The corner platforms will not fall, so stand in the lower left corner and just wait for the blaster turrets to appear. Jump and smash one, then follow the cascading platforms in the upper right corner. Easy.
Phase 5: The last wave is delicate. Cortex spins in a circle with energy beams - jump the beams and wait in the lower center for the turrets to appear. Four turrets will appear this time. Crush the lowest one, jump to the middle one, then go right / left. Then you just need to dodge the lasers while avoiding a single ring of energy.
After all the turrets are destroyed, Cortex summons four minions instead of one. Defeat all four to end the battle. I recommend removing the left one first and moving to the right to clear the rest. Do not rush! As long as you dodge, minions cannot hit you with their launchers. Wait until you are clear of the rotating lasers before launching into the kill.
If you manage to complete this last wave, you will beat the game! Now Crash and his friends can hang out together, play video games, and ignore the responsibility of saving the world.
