Description

If you haven't been disconnected from all human contact or media, you certainly know the hit Netflix series: Squid Game. A talented developer, Dani Deverson has made a video game adaptation, using the series' tests and the eliminatory principle. This multiplayer battle royale system where only one survivor can remain is nothing new, but this cool little game will delight fans of the series.

Crab Game takes the type of music and all the aesthetics of Squid Game, as well in the costumes of the avatars, as in the sets, the rest room or the events. You will not play as one of the characters in the series and the plot between the characters is not present either, but you will be able to play 1,2,3 sun and will be able to kill other players if they have the woe to let their guard down during the break.

Why play Crab Game?

Based on the Squid Game series, Crab Game invites you to relive the series' trials and eliminate the 34 other players in order to be the last survivor among the 35 willing participants. If you do not know the universe of the series, it is a Korean series which uses the principle of Battle Royale, but using children's games to eliminate all the participants one by one until there is only one left.

On the other hand, unlike the series, Crab Game has 28 different maps, thus offering many more types of games. You will be able to play, like in the 1,2,3 sun series or the glass platform, but you can also play “floor in lava” where you have to be perched when someone says these words or play the game of the bomb. The games are completely in English and can be played with the keyboard and the mouse. Note that the commands are configurable in the Settings menu.

To play Crab Game, you have 2 possibilities. You can Click Start Game to create your own server and invite your friends or create a new public server where all players can connect. Among the options available, it is possible to choose the maximum number of players and to deactivate the voice chat.

If you don't feel like creating a server, you can click Find a Game. You will see all the games in progress or waiting for players. Click Join to join a game. The choice of game is random, you will only know the determined game when you log in. Also note that you only play one game at a time, you are not like in the series, playing several games in a row. If it is a game in progress, you will only be a spectator, but if the game has not started, you will be integrated and will have to wait until the number of players is reached. You will thus have the opportunity to take control of the controls and speak with your opponents before killing them in a bloodbath. Note that at the end of the elapsed time, if you haven't reached or completed the objective, your character will explode. If you are eliminated and therefore killed before the time runs out, you can continue to see the other players in action until only one remains.

The graphics are cubic and quite simplistic, but the game mechanics are well put together. We just regret the absence of a small tutorial to know the movement controls and the attack keys, which we missed during our test. You must first go to the control parameters to find out or change them if necessary.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a fun, dynamic, colorful and profitable game that also uses the Battle Royale system, but in a much funnier register. No bloodshed or murder, you play as a chubby and disguised little character who must win trials one after the other by his skill, his mischief and his dexterity. The games last from 10 to 15 minutes and you have to win 5 successive events to be on the first step of the podium and win the winner's crown.
