The biggest advice I can give you right away:

Take advantage of redeemed blood codes

The blood code trading "class" system is reminiscent of a game like Dragon Dogma or Tales of Berseria, which encourages you to trade items and skills. It's not as hardcore as Dragon dogma about it (you can slap people like a wet noodle really quickly in this game if you don't trade your vocations swap enough), but it's a feature.



There are a ton of abilities that are generally useful and can be used with most blood codes, such as health and stamina boosts, or weird abilities like Active IFF and Phantom Assault, which are very handy for a variety of playing styles.

Search

This game likes to knock enemies from the ceiling onto you early on. Watch out for that.

Use your combined drain

Draining ichor is one of the most useful things you can do. Return attacks are often a great way to get it and increase your maximum ichor, but can be more difficult to pull off later and on bosses. Instead, pick your moment and use the combo drain attack.

Keep in mind that it has a bit of a lag, so there is a risk in using it, but doing it on memorized enemies means you can use your gifts a lot more often.
