Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is here and ready to go for anyone interested in jumping into the game to check out the heavy action. One attractive aspect of the game is being able to play with your friends. However, not everyone will have access to the game for personal financial reasons. Do players have the option to play with a friend online through local co-op and split-screen mode?
How to play split screen multiplayer in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
To put players immediately in the thick of the action, friends can jump into the campaign if they have a second controller and start trying. The campaign is fully accessible with split screen features and local co-op. When you have a second controller, you are good to go. No need to worry about too much other stuff.
You can also try out co-op mode through the return of Spec Ops. It's a mix of a campaign story with full multiplayer experience, except all enemies are angry NPCs. Spec mode players have missions that they will need to tackle with unique objectives to complete in their lifetimes.
However, players will not be able to participate in a legitimate multiplayer match. This mode is reserved exclusively for one player. You can't bring a friend down the online spectrum and level them up with you, get prestige, or do that kind of funny thing. If you're willing to pass the controller when playing, it can turn into a multiplayer experience. But other than that, two local friends are going to have to stick with the Modern Warfare campaign and Spec Ops mode. You can party with your friends and play multiplayer content, so there you go.
Unfortunately, players won't have the chance to play local co-op with zombies. A Zombies mode isn't coming to Modern Warfare, which may put off some players who were eager to see what Infinity Ward had in mind regarding this mode.
There is still a lot to do in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Make sure you jump into the game quickly and check out what's going on.
