With that said, let's take a look at the unique collection of Bosses Cyber Shadow has to offer.
1. Smasher
A giant heavy machinery literally trying to crush you, alongside its turret friends who are constantly shooting at you. An entry-level Boss, it's not exactly hard to beat but one that could take you out if you're not careful with bullets.
2. Appearer
Considered the real first boss in the game, the Apparitor is another cyber warrior with quite a few tricks up his sleeve. As long as you learn its patterns, it's pretty easy to tackle and move on to the next area. A fun little tip: get behind him and start cutting him if you find him hard to beat, because he literally can't do anything about it. He keeps attacking from the front, and the moment you beat him he even mentions that the fight was unfair because you stabbed him in the back.
3. Laser brain
A brain that ... shoots lasers. Literally not much to say about this one, as the name suggests everything.
4. Scrambler
An enemy resembling a juggernaut, with heavy attacks. Don't feel comfortable though, as he has several range skills in his arsenal, with some pretty unpredictable schedules. Also, it has 2 phases, the second being triggered when you deplete its entire life. He picks up some of it and hits you without his massive armor.
5. Hunter Tank
Like the Smasher, it's not much of a boss fight as it can be beaten quite quickly, and it's not the final enemy of the specific chapter. That said, it can be quite annoying if it catches you off guard, so be sure to dismantle all of the turrets before you start attacking its core.
6. Biohunter
Another cyber warrior, this time focusing on air strikes and artillery from above. The special weapon loot blade and the Rising Fire special ability can really help in this fight because he really likes to stay in the air. In addition, he too has a second phase, where he fights you with a big katana sword.
7. Mekadragon
A real pain in the you know where at first, but after understanding its timing and gadget, this can be eliminated very easily, using the Rising Fire ability.
8. Ship defense system
Real Mother Brain vibrates here, this Boss even has a similar strategy. While all 6 turrets in the room are active they are totally invulnerable, so take them down first, then just hit the core. After repeating this several times, the Boss is down.
9. Topic Alpha V1
Pretty simple designs, but can be devastating if you're not quick. Use your Parry a lot and you should be good to go.
10. Topic Alpha V2
Look who's back. Fairly improved too, but the strategy is still the same, learn his patterns and use Parry whenever needed.
11. Tunnel cleaner
Pretty tough boss fight if you don't know how to handle this train-like encounter. Various attacks from both sides, so you have to use your dash, parry, and reflexes to stay alive. Take a look at its patterns and hit as much as you can.
12. Dropship
Barely a boss fight, you have control of a new mecha attempting to take down a giant dropship. Just run around killing everything on sight with your weapons and the battle will be over before you know it.
13. Combinatron
While there isn't a real gimmick here, it's a really cool fight. You just have to pay attention to every projectile present on the screen and keep attacking the hands and head of this giant robot until it shatters.
14. Spiderail
The obligatory elevator boss fight that all good 2D action games had in the past. Keep attacking the drone-like machine that hovers above you and make sure you kill any little spiders it throws before they get to you. Also watch out for his flamethrower, as he can easily get you stuck if you're not careful.
15. Apparitor - 2nd time
Our adorable cyber ninja is back, and this time he means business. Improved in every way, he uses his usual tricks alongside new attacks that will really test your skills. Make sure you start the fight prepared.
16. Progenitor
To be fair here, quite anti-climatic for the first phase of the Final Boss. Avoid everything he's shooting at you and hit him in the middle where the core is. After beating him, get ready for phase 2.
17. Progenitor - Final Boss
3 floating orbs shoot you different buffs as you face this monster, so keep grabbing them and attacking the core in the middle. There are many different attacks thrown at you, so you will need to use your reflexes and deal with Progenitor patiently. It may take a while to drop, so keep your cool and only strike when necessary.
There you have it, every boss that the game threw at us is now killed so that you can enjoy your ending, which we won't spoil here, and of course continue playing the game to complete it 100% or try out game achievements which have really hard challenges like finishing the game in under 3 hours and so on. Cyber Shadow ended up being a great tribute to the past, and I will definitely continue to try and complete all of those feats. Good luck to everyone!
