What's in the Gold Edition?
The Assassin's Creed Valhalla Gold Edition includes the following content.
- Assassin's Creed Valhalla base game
- Season pass
- Wrath of the Druids
- Paris siege
- The legend of Beowulf
The base Assassin's Creed Valhalla is exactly what it sounds like, giving you access to the game itself. The Season Pass is the real draw for the Gold Edition. This gives you two major post-launch story expansions as well as a bonus quest that you can play on release day called The legend of Beowulf. The Beowulf quest is just a mission, but Wrath of the Druids et Paris siege are long DLC expansions that take place in new areas with new characters and quests to discover.
Wrath of the Druids is a more fantasy-driven expansion focused on titular Druids. Eivor travels to Ireland in this DLC and dismantles a strange cult as they come face to face with creatures from Celtic mythology. It is similar to the Fate of Atlantis DLC for Assassin's Creed Odyssey and the Curse of the Pharaohs DLC for Assassins' Creed Origins. This DLC is expected to be released in the spring of 2021.
The Paris siege is a historically more precise expansion centered on the Paris siege. It sends Eivor to the war-torn region of Francia and includes all new replayable activities that will allow you to enjoy plenty of extra hours of Assassin's Creed Valhalla if you want to. This DLC is slated for release in the summer of 2021.
Is Assassin's Creed Valhalla Gold Edition Worth It?
Assassin's Creed Valhalla Gold Edition is well worth it if you plan to play the DLC. The Season Pass is the only difference between the Standard Edition and the Gold Edition, which will determine whether you should get it or not. If you are a fan of the series and have played expansions in the last few games, you will probably enjoy the Valhalla DLC and you should get the Gold Edition. If you're not sure, you can always purchase the Standard Edition for now and then purchase the Season Pass on its own after completing the game if you're interested. The DLC won't be released until next year, so you have some time to make a decision.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be released on November 10th on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, Google Stadia and Amazon Luna.
