Android P improves the features related to Bluetooth and will allow users to connect up to five audio devices to the smartphone at the same time. With Android Oreo, it is only possible to go up to two, one for calls and the other for multimedia. However, this new option does not allow you to broadcast audio to all devices simultaneously. Android P should also make it possible to transform smartphones into Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
The first Developer Preview version of Android P has been officially released by Google. The opportunity to dig a little to find all the news and improvements that should arrive in the final version of the next mobile OS from Google. As Android Police points out, there is a change in the connection of audio devices via Bluetooth: you can now pair five devices at the same time.
Android P: up to 5 audio devices connected via Bluetooth
An evolution since Android Oreo only allows the simultaneous connection of two audio devices: one for calls and the other for multimedia. This feature allows you to switch very quickly from one device to another without having to disconnect one to use a different one in the process. A significant time saver for those juggling Bluetooth devices. On the other hand, Android P should not allow you to stream music to multiple audio devices at the same time.
Another expected feature, Android P should transform smartphones into Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, features that so far do not exist natively on the OS but sometimes present on certain overlays or through third-party applications. With Android P, you could even use your smartphone as a gamepad. It remains to be seen whether this option will be just as effective as what is already offered by some apps from the Play Store.
