Are you looking for a webcam dedicated to streaming and you don't know which one to choose? We tried two: Razer kiyo e Logitech Streamcam . Both are called "the ultimate experience for streamers" but will it be true? Let's find out together.
Razer Kiyo vs Logitech Streamcam review and comparison
In the last period, between direct and virtual meetings, we felt the need to entrust all the video part to a product effective and good performance. To do this we have decided to turn to due webcam made by as many companies: Razer kiyo e Logitech Streamcam. How do they differ? Which one is right for you?
Design
Both are characterized by a particular design.
Razer kiyo has a cylindrical body with one central objective and one LED strip along the perimeter. Of course it can be easily attached to any monitor and laptop and then connected to the USB-A port of your computer.
Logitech Streamcam, on the other hand, comes with a more classic body from cuboidal shapes, boasts a front in fabric and a small status LED that indicates whether it is active or not.
Compared to the opponent, it can be separated from the frame and rotated to make vertical videos.
But pay attention to the connector: it is a Type-C so make sure your PC has this input.
Video and audio quality
Razer Kiyo offers a 4MP lens which manages to return two possible video resolutions: one a 1080p is 30 fps, while one a 720p is 60 fps. Logitech, on the other hand, manages to record video in resolution 1080p is 60 fps.
I know, here the choice seems simple but it is not. Razer indeed offers more vibrant and warm colors and above all it is equipped with a fascia sternum with ben 12 LEDs, which means it can light up your face even in very dark environments.
As for the‘audio don't expect big things: Logitech offers you something in addition, but if your goal is to stream we strongly suggest the purchase of a microphone dedicated to the purpose.
Software
One of the discriminating factors that most marks the differences between the Logitech model and that of Razer is the software.
Logitech Streamcam relies on Capture, an extremely complete program that allows you to modify every parameter of your webcam: from colors to the tracking of your face with the automatic focus passing through the audio channel e the anti flicker. Furthermore Capture allows you to record a video directly, therefore without the need for a third-party tool.
Razer Kiyo takes advantage of the good old man Synapse 3. Also in this cable you will have the maximum control of the different parameters but you will not have the possibility to record videos. To do this you will need to find another software.
Which do I choose?
The merits of Logitech Streamcam are numerous: streaming at 1080p at 60 fps, the richest software of options, the ability to record a video directly, moreover with the Picture-in-picture mode, which allows you to do gameplay with the giant game screen and your face in the corner. However, using only one Type-C input sacrifices older computers a bit. The price is 159 euro list.
