The latest expansion to come Monster Hunter: The World is Iceborne. The expansion will introduce a whole new cold map, complemented by a winter wonderland where players can explore and hunt new monsters. Since this is a whole new area, players can expect to encounter a few new creatures that they haven't yet encountered. Monster Hunter: World, among them there are a handful of extant creature subspecies. Here is the list of all the monsters you can hunt in the new expansion.
All new monsters added to Monster Hunter: World's Iceborne
New monsters aren't a rock-rocking trick, even if you're a well-traveled hunter. These ice-based creatures are in their element in deep snow, so it's best to be careful trying to attack one on your own terrain. Here are the monsters you will encounter in the latest Iceborne expansion:
Banbaro
The first on this one is the much sweeter Banbaro. Players will find this creature to be much less aggressive than the others on this list, as this elk-like creature spends its time enjoying life and relaxing. However, when engaging in combat, be prepared for heavy loads as it attempts to stick you with its massive horns or dodge rocks this monster can throw at you.
Barioth
The Barioth makes its return from Monster Hunter 3. Those who recognize it will receive a slew of graphics enhancements, but it remains as deadly as it always will be. The flying feline Wyvern uses its wings to cling to icy walls, unleashing a series of ice-based whirlpools. Additionally, he can stick to the wall and attempt to pounce on unsuspecting hunters, making him an agility-based encounter.
Beotodus
This fish is a fish out of the water, but it has found its home in the snow as it sinks into the thick layers to attack you. You're going to want to stay alert for the creature's mighty horn, as you're likely going to see it come out of the White Abyss. Because this amazing creature is a predator if you come across other more docile animals in your fight, it might be interested in having a snack while dealing with you.
Brachydios
You're going to want to attack this creature sparingly, just like the explosive outer layer. The Brachydios is a large blue and green colored wyvern that uses its spit to coat its body with explosive slime. You'll want to time your attacks carefully, in order to avoid getting hit. However, hunters have the option of using water-based items to remove the coating. As long as you're careful and time the water carefully, you'll do well against this monster.
Glavenus
The Glavenus is a huge contrast to the ice theme based on Iceborne ice cream. This large wyvern has a blade-shaped tail that can turn red. When it gets too hot and begins to die, the creature uses its teeth to renew the heat. After doing so, the beast can spit out this acquired charcoal, giving it a decent ranged attack, along with its already lethal tail. You will have to follow the patterns and learn how he fights to avoid his anger.
Namielle
La Namielle is a whole new face to the Monster Hunter franchise. It is an elderly dragon that resides underwater and while it can live underwater, it does not depend on the depths to protect it. Because it prefers to dwell at the bottom of the pool, this dragon has a distinct glow on its exoskeleton. The light allows her to see better in the aquatic depths, but she will also have lightning control, making this a nightmare fight for any experienced hunter.
Nargacuga
Did you want more Wyvern in your Monster Hunter: World? You are going to have more. The Nargacuga is another creature returning from the Monster Hunter franchise, and this massive bat-like creature is on the hunt. You're not going to find it among Iceborne's new area, but you're going to find it gaining the ancient forest.
Shara ishvalda
This elderly bug-eyed dragon can control the ground around him, hitting players as if they were stones to play with at will. Shara Ishvalda lays the tips of its wings on the ground to feel the vibrations of the world around it, pushing back the earth to force hunters to be creative in their approach.
Tigerx
Classics are hard to take down, and the Tigrex is an old favorite that's hard to keep away from the franchise. Looks like this monster was taken from the history books and given a set of wings to make it even deadlier. A distinct feature of this monster is its ability to actively hunt and follow a hunter, forcing him to retreat from stops to escape. However, when it gets tired, hunters can leap forward to launch their own attacks.
Velkhana
A new creature coming to Monster Hunter is this ancient ice-breathing dragon. The Velkhana has had very little time, so hunters will find out what this monster is capable of. Given the creature's cold nature, hunters will use thermal weapons to quell the eternal winter of this aged dragon.
Yian garuga
What could be worse than a bat worm? How about a wyvern bird, wanting to jump from its comfortable perch to crash into the ground? You are not going to find this happy bird in the colder region. Instead, you're going to find him in the Old Forest, among the many creatures already populated, fighting them to become the Air King.
Zinogre
The last creature on this list was the last monster to be shown to the public right before the game's release, and what a montage, given the monster's popularity. Like the Namielle, the Zinogre has control over electricity, making it a tough fight for those who want to avoid getting knocked down in the middle of an encounter. When you fight her, the incredible speed of this creature will make it a problem for any Monster Hunter.
Subspecies
These monsters are coming to expansion, but Monster Hunter: World players have probably found them several times already. However, they have undergone a few modifications that set them apart from their previous counterparts.
