New year, new smartphone! Here, also in this 20202, news arrives in the Beijing company: let's talk about the new Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro. This is a mobile phone that can compete with the top of the range, however showing a more than advantageous price (we are talking about € 599 approximately).
As with previous models, we find one good quality of materials, excellent performance and a 108 MP camera.
We have tried it and tried again and we have it also compared to its previous model, the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. Will he be able to overcome his younger brother? Is it worth the leap? Let's find out all the details of the new smartphone in this review.

A design that is always very elegant
The design of the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is really very beautiful; it is a product crafted with care and decidedly elegant and slender. The phone is mostly made of glass. To be precise, front and back are made with a Gorilla Glass 5. The supporting structure, on the other hand, is made of aluminum alloy, so as to give strength and solidity. The smartphone features a mirror effect in the back and along the side frame.
To the touch, the phone feels very smooth, both on the front and back, and along the edges. Despite this, the grip is good and there is no risk of escaping from your hands, especially if you use it with the free cover in the package. In this case, we return a little to the origins: the cover, in fact, is made of soft silicone material unlike the 9T Pro cover which was instead made of rigid plastic.
The dimensions are quite generous and, for this reason, you will find it harder to use it with one hand. We have a 6,67-inch display and a weight of 218 grams. This may seem like too much, but it is necessary given the size of the battery. Not only is the screen larger than its predecessor, but the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro also clutters laterally than the 9T Pro, also due to the protruding 108 MP camera.
The frame contains the power key with integrated fingerprint sensor, the volume rocker, the infrared sensor, microphone and speaker. These are located at the bottom, next to the USB-C, and the other at the top. The sound of this makes its way into both the front grille and a hole in the top bezel.
Difference and analogy between Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro and 9T Pro
Still on the aesthetic side, we want to focus on similarities and differences between the two Xiaomi models. In addition to the dimensions, which we have already highlighted, we also have another substantial difference: there Jack audio. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro loses the input for the 3.5 mm Jack. Inside the package, however, there will be a USB-C / Jack audio adapter.
Change also there position relating to Notification LED. If on the previous model this was placed (uncomfortably) above the front camera slot, now it is instead located in the upper part of the frame. Positioned here, it is more visible than in the past, even if it is not easy to notice it in every position. 
As with the 9T Pro, so too Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro presents a trolley for the dual SIM, always placed in the lower part, but in the opposite position. Also in this case expandable memory is missing, but the cuts start at 128GB, so the lack shouldn't be too bad. Absent the IP certification, but always present a waterproof nanoparticle coating. Previous models had the same coating and we can assure you that they have always withstood very well even in persistent rains.
Finally, change the position and front camera system. In the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, in fact, this is simply placed in the upper left side of the screen. The previous model, on the other hand, had a retractable top camera.
But is it cool even if it's not an AMOLED?
The first feature that catches the eye of this Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is that it features an IPS panel and not an AMOLED. I can sense the disappointment, yet you shouldn't stop at appearances alone. The displayIn fact, it has nothing to envy to another technology. It can be seen very well, in any light condition. We have deep blacks and great contrasts, as well as really excellent sharpness.
In detail, the panel is 6,67 inches large, has a FHD + resolution (1080 x 2340 pixels) with an aspect ratio of 20: 9 and a 394 dpi pixel density. The brightness is 500 nit and the screen can go up to a peak of 600 cd / sqm. Basically, this guarantees a perfect reproduction of colors and writings even with high external light. The panel also supports HDR10 technology.
Another strong point is the dynamic refresh that manages to touch peaks of 144Hz. A marvel if we think that this is not a mobile phone that was born for gaming, but that, given the characteristics, it could also be. 
How powerful is this Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro?
After taking a careful look at the aesthetic part of the new Xiaomi smartphone, it is good to go inside a little more. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is not just about aesthetics, but it is also contained. Let's start with the CPU, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, 8 core (@844 MHz – 2.84 GHz). It is a very powerful processor, able to take full advantage of every app, whether it is for work or for games. In addition to this, the CPU integrates a modem 5G which, although it is still little exploited in our country, must be taken into consideration for the near future. The smartphone then presents the 6 WiFi, NFC and GPS function, FM radio and a Bluetooth 5.1.
To this powerful processor, they are then paired with a Adreno 650 GPU and 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Enough speed and capacity to ensure the perfect functioning of multiple applications in the background. No problem switching from one card to another, no slowdowns and maximum efficiency. As for the internal memory, however, the mobile is available in 128GB or 256GB sizes; both storage works on memories UFS 3.1. This means greater speed and storage efficiency.
A very large battery
Another strong point of this smartphone is certainly the battery capacity. Let's talk, in fact, a battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh and a fast charge up to 33W that allows full recharging in 90 minutes.
To give you an idea of the battery life, we put a strain on the phone which responded perfectly. After 5 hours of non-stop use, with constant videos on YouTube and maximum brightness, the charge has dropped only to 63%. A surprising and interesting result, especially considering that, with normal use, it can last more than a day. 
How does this Xiaomi shoot?
The images made with Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, especially those made with the main camera offer a good color rendering. Are also well detailed, although the sensor works with the pixel binning technique, which reduces files from 108 to 22MP.
Some flaws come out in less enlightened situations, with details that are no longer as precise as in optimal lighting conditions, as well as the white balance being less accurate. At night, despite this Mi 10T Pro is able to create light even when there is none, the results are characterized by noise and little engraving.
The size of the module would suggest many different cameras, but in reality what we have in addition to the main sensor from the 108MP is a 13MP wide-angle lens and a 5MP macro. The telephoto lens is missing, which perhaps would have been more interesting than the Macro camera, because the latter lacks detail reproduction (the resolution is what it is) but at least it can count on a fairly precise AF system.
Although thanks to the amount of information received from the main sensor we can take advantage of digital zoom, it is better not to overdo it. Up to a magnification 2x the result is pretty good, but going further, all the artifacts of a digital enlargement come out.
Wide angle and front?
The wide angle can be very comfortable in many different situations and the quality offered is definitely sufficient for use of images on social networks. Going to look in more detail, however, there is a certain tendency to oversaturate photographs and some difficulty with detail on the edges of the frame. Nothing for which, however, having to bandage your head.
Enough specifies the portrait mode by isolating the subject from the background, even if sometimes, especially with objects, the focus is not very precise.
Passing by to the front camera the results are perhaps not up to expectations, especially if we are not perfectly enlightened. In good condition, however, we will have no problem taking a nice selfie to post on social media.

Here we are at the final stages of our review, to sum up what we have discussed previously. The Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro is a marvel, also in relation to the introductory price. The 128GB model is sold for a price of 599 €, the one from 256 GB to 649 €. Both versions are by no means over priced and, indeed, offer excellent hardware and remarkable features.
Our Customers an elegant style, generous size, but not too uncomfortable, a camera that does what it should. The battery is huge and is able to keep the cell phone alive for more than a day. Excellent IPS display which gives clean, deep colors and good brightness. Finally, at the software level we find then Android 10 customized with MIUI 12. An excellent customization, which offers many icons, themes, while remaining fast and functional.
In short, even this year we are facing one of the best smartphones for quality / price ratio.
