Star Wars: Squadrons has taken off, and fans have been busy immersing themselves in EA Motive's space combat FPS since its release on October 2. By now, any keen fan should have completed their single-player campaign and enjoyed the frenzied game modes that the Squads multiplayer component has to offer.
However, you might be wondering if any future expansions - single player or multiplayer - will be coming to Star Wars: Squadrons. This could come in the form of story DLC, additional maps, new types of multiplayer games, or other content. So, will there be DLC for Squadrons at some point?
At the moment, it is expected that squadrons will receive any form of DLC. The game will receive regular patches that stabilize the game, fix bugs and other updates, but there are no concrete details on the actual expansions.
In an interview with Polygon in June, EA Motive's creative director, Ian Frazier, revealed that producing DLC for Squadrons would not be 'impossible', but confirmed that there were no plans in place for it. ask players to earn more money than the retail price of the game.
“What we're trying to do is try to make a game that's a little bit old school and that's a mentality,” Frazier said. “You give us your $ 40, we give you the game. It's a totally self-contained experience. It's not, "Well, okay, here's part of the game and the rest will be out next week." No, that's the whole game. So at this point we're not talking about live service or DLC or anything else. "
It will be disappointing for some fans to hear but, as Frazier says, never say never. For now, all of the Squadron content is what you will get.
