Don't be shocked if you're halfway through Nexomon: Extinction and still wondering what several weird objects are doing. At first glance, many seem meaningless and not worth learning more. If you take this approach, you will be even more frustrated when you see traders offering you only a ridiculous little whistle for a few hundred coins. However, like an unevolved Nexomon, these miniature trinkets can play a major role in turning you into a big league tamer.
Where to find them
You will see whistles for the first time as you walk through the markets and traders of Parum and then all the other major places. The official title of each will always mention a Nexomon type beforehand. The reason being, each element-driven whistle gives you a greater chance of catching this type of creature. For example, having a handful of whistles will give you a likely chance of catching someone like the fiery Lume or Tiki.
How to use each whistle
Each whistle gives you a 3% more chance to catch the type it is based on. However, it is not used in the mid-battle. Instead, they stay in your inventory forever and can be stacked with the more you have. Before you try to grab a Nexomon, there's a prompt that shows how your collection of whistles changes your probability, so you'll always know your stacking progress.
While you can start the game with a 15% chance of successfully catching a monster, whistles can give you a major boost from your first experience. With enough whistles and food, your odds can be as high as the coveted 100%. Even if traders aren't doing a great deal, it's still worth spending a little dough on those underrated bits of virtual plastic.
