Le Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are the new true wireless headphones of the Korean company. A product that takes its cue from what has been seen in the past - namely Galaxy Buds Plus and Galaxy Buds Live - but which brings with it a breath of fresh air thanks to a series of interesting implementations and above all to a renewed audio quality. The price isn't exactly popular though: 229 euro. So is it worth spending it? Let's find out in this review.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro review
By now we understand: new top of the range means new Bluetooth headsets. And so the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S21 was accompanied by that of the Galaxy Buds Pro which, aesthetically, seem almost a fusion between the two previous models. They have in fact the shape of the Plus but the soft lines of the Live. An interesting solution but not without flaws. But let's go in order.
Design
The Buds Pro abandon the eccentric shape of the Live to propose an already consolidated solution. In fact, the design is that of the Buds Plus and like them they are in-ear so as to anchor themselves inside the ear. However, they sin in terms of balance: while the Plus ones are more balanced and equipped with a small rubber flap that holds them in place, the new true wireless headphones seem to be a little less proportionate and tend to come out of the ear when you make movements a a little more abrupt. However, we would like to point out the presence in the package of rubber pads of 3 different sizes, so as to adapt them to your ear canal and avoid, as far as possible, this problem.

Technology
On the technology front we find a microphone located on the inside and two microphones positioned on the outside. One of them features a high signal-to-noise ratio which further eliminates background noise. Also on the external surface we find a room with a net, associated with the tecnologia Wind Shield and designed to filter out wind noise. Finally, there are proximity sensors and the Pogo connector.
The audio is instead entrusted to two drivers: one 11mm for deeper bass and one 6,5mm for richer highs, flanked by the 360 Audio functionality and from tecnologia Dolby Head Tracking.
Then there is the active noise cancellation, to isolate you from outside noise, and functionality Ambient Sound, which allows you to amplify sounds by over 20 decibels.

Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro review: how do they behave?
But how do the Galaxy Buds Pro behave in everyday life? Really very good. The audio quality is much higher compared to what is offered by the two previous models. The sound is so clear that you can easily distinguish the different sounds, the voice is crystal clear and the bass is deep, enhanced by the dedicated driver and the Bass Boost functionality present in the application. The volume is also excellent, which is very high without distorting the sounds.
And if you want to listen to your favorite songs without being disturbed, just activate the active noise cancellation using the Galaxy Wearable app. There are two levels: High and Low. It is also associated with it artificial intelligence which allows the earphones to recognize what is happening around you. The purpose is quickly explained: when you are in a quiet environment, ANC (Active Noise Canceling) does not activate because there is no need, thus saving some battery. If, on the other hand, there are external noises, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro proceed to suppress them.
The Korean headphones they also convince during calls. In fact, your interlocutor will have no problem hearing you, even with a little wind.
The application
As anticipated, Samsung's earphones are accompanied by the now famous app Galaxy Wearable. Here we find all the necessary settings: noise cancellation, ambient sound with 4 levels of adjustment to amplify what happens outside, the personalization of touches, the equalizer, the game mode and the reading of notifications.
The actual novelty is only one: voice detection. In fact, Samsung has focused a lot on artificial intelligence, also using it to understand when the user is talking. This is to reduce the volume of the multimedia content you are listening to and then raise it when you are finished. The "recovery time" can be set to 5, 10 or 15 seconds.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro review: integration with the ecosystem
Naturally, the Buds Pro are born to integrate perfectly with the Samsung ecosystem. This means that they are automatically recognized by the Samsung smartphone or tablet to facilitate pairing.
The new model also takes advantage of a new feature called Auto Switch: if you are watching a video with your tablet and your phone rings, you can answer and the headphones will automatically switch to the smartphone. After the call ends, the earphones reconnect to the tablet. Really a nice convenience.
Autonomy
Autonomy is definitely convincing: you have about 28 hours of playback, 8 hours given by the headphones and an additional 20 hours by the charging case. Activating the ANC drops a bit: we pass to 5 hours of playback and 13 hours provided by the case. More than enough to cover about two days of use.
Once both the headphones and the case are discharged, you can recharge them using the USB-C cable. Know that with 5 minutes of charging you take home another hour of playback.
Finally, there is no lack of support for wireless and reverse charging.
Premium but not for all
The Samsung Galaxy Buds are for sale at 229 euros, list price. For all those who decide to buy them at launch, there is a promo with which you are also given a Wireless Charger Duo that never hurts.
Are they worth buying? It is clear that they are not for everyone. In fact, they are born for a demanding public, willing to spend more to have a very high quality and many features. The Galaxy Buds Pro in fact offer convincing audio, good battery life and a number of interesting technologies, including voice detection. They are also compatible with SmartThings Find, which allows you to find them anywhere in case of loss. The location is not very precise but you still have an idea of where to look for the earphones should you lose them. In short, he really doesn't miss anything.
