Xiaomi started 2021 by launching the Redmi Note 9T, an inexpensive smartphone equipped with 5G also in dual SIM and with performances that do not disappoint at all. But no spoilers, let's find out everything in the full review of Redmi Note 9T.

The body of Redmi Note 9T is made of knurled plastic and the first thing that catches the eye is the photographic module placed inside a chromed circle, which does not protrude excessively. The smartphone weighs 199 grams and, thanks also to the texture of the rear plastic, the feeling is that of a solid device that is well held in the hand.
The display is a FullHD+ IPS from 6,53 pollici with risoluzione 1080 x 2340 pixels and 60Hz of refresh rate. It is a good display, bright enough not to create problems in direct sunlight, although Xiaomi could have pushed this feature even more. At the top of the screen, in the left corner, is the hole that houses the front camera. The fingerprint sensor, instead, it is placed on the right side, integrated in the on and standby button: it is reliable, precise and well positioned.
To complete the design of this Redmi Note 9T there is the 3,5mm jack, infrared port, two speakers for stereo audio - of fair quality - e the USB-C port for charging at 18W. On the left side there is the trolley for the SIMs, which can also accommodate a microSD, however, giving up the second nanoSIM.
What's under the body
Under the body we find the processor Mediatek Dimensity 800U octa core at 2,4 GHz: a substantial difference, in a positive sense, compared to the 85 GHz Helio G2 present in the brother Redmi Note 9. The processor is combined with a GPU Mali-G57. This leap forward results in a greater efficiency, calculation capacity and a general fluidity of daily use. To complete the data sheet we then find 4GB of RAM and an internal memory of 64 or 128GB.
As for connectivity, the smartphone is equipped with Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC and 5G chip available for both bays. From this point of view, the smartphone is extremely complete.
Autonomy is also one of the strong points of the Redmi Note 9T which thanks to its 5000mAh allows you to cover two days of moderate use and it will surely guarantee you to arrive until the evening in the most stressful days. Charging, however, stops at 18W.
Redmi Note 9T is powered by the MIUI 12 based on Android 10, with the typical customization of Xiaomi. So there are the themes, the cloned applications and the possibility of using the application drawer. The downside is that advertisements appear in the app menus. In general, the user experience is very fluid, both in switching from one app to another and in gaming.
How it shoots
The photographic compartment enclosed in the chromed ring is composed of three cameras. The main sensor is 48 megapixel f / 1.79, then there are a depth sensor and a macro sensor, both from 2 megapixel. Inside the hole on the display is the 13 megapixel f / 2.25 front camera.
While this is where many budget smartphones limp, the Redmi Note 9T manages to shoot good photos in all light conditions. Of course it brings out the best during daylight hours, but it also gets along in low light. It is also equipped with night mode which, however, seems to slightly worsen the result compared to shots in normal mode. Selfies are also good which, like the main photographic module, give their best in ideal lighting conditions.
Redmi Note 9T registers fine video at 4K and 30fps, with a fairly fast autofocus - again considering the price range - and good stabilization.

Redmi Note 9T review: buy it or not
We were pleasantly impressed by the performance of this Xiaomi which, despite being cheap, it performs well in every area. It takes good photos, it is quite fluid and responsive and above all it is equipped with 5G in dualSIM. A rare feature in this price range. The smartphone is in fact available at a list price of 269 euros for the 64GB version and 299 euros for the 128GB version, but it is already on offer starting from 199 euro. Therefore, thanks to the performance and extremely complete connectivity, we recommend the purchase.
