We anticipate the price immediately: the Real Buds Air 3 are for sale in 59,99 €.
We are therefore faced with a pair of cheap but not unappetizing true wireless headphones. Instead, Realme has decided to equip its latest Bluetooth headsets with Active Noise Canceling technology, Transparency mode, and even three handy presets for audio.
But how do they actually behave in daily life? We tell you about it in this one Realme Buds Air 3 review.
Design and controls
Le Real Buds Air 3 come in two colors: Starry Blue e Galaxy White. Aesthetically, nothing changes between the two models: the Chinese company has opted for an in-ear design with a rather short cylindrical-based temple that supports touch controls. Controls that are extremely responsive and that you can customize using the application realme link.
The earphones are comfortable and light, designed to be used even for long periods. In fact, once worn you will hardly remember their existence. The only element that prevents you from using them for a whole day is the autonomy, which settles on 5 and a half hours with active noise cancellation and 7 hours by deactivating the ANC.
He can come to your aid the case, which guarantees a maximum of 30 hours of autonomy.
Once exhausted, you will have to use the USB-C connector on the bottom of the case to recharge your Realme Buds Air 3. To fill up with energy it will take you about two hours but be aware that with 10 minutes of charging you will still take home 100 minutes of playback. Not bad for those who are always in a hurry and can't afford to go two hours without headphones.
The design of the case follows the same philosophy as that of the headphones. Realme in fact I opted for a minimal look, with the logo positioned on the top, a small central LED and the pairing button positioned on the side. The case is also very light and rather thin, so you can keep it in your pocket without feeling discomfort.
Realme Buds Air 3 review: audio quality
From these Real Buds Air 3 we weren't expecting much and the reason is simple: the Chinese company had to save somewhere. In short, we have the ANC, the transparency mode, a well-finished design and a good battery for € 59,99. They must have sacrificed something, right?
Well, not the audio quality. Obviously we are not dealing with a pair of audiophile headphones. Highs and mids aren't always accurate but overall the yield is satisfactory.
The app also allows you to select one of the three available presets:
- Bass Boost+;
- Balanced;
- Shining (here perhaps the translation is imprecise).
The first boosts the bass a lot, the last enhances the vocals while the second mixes the other two quite satisfactorily.
At your disposal then you also have an option that increases the volume already very high of the headphones e a test for custom audio tuning.
All this allows you to obtain a truly satisfying result, with a listening experience that exceeds the € 59,99 required for the purchase of these earphones.
Realme GT2: our review of an ambitious and high-level mid-rangeAnd the calls?
The performance of the microphones is perhaps the aspect that convinced us the least. In a quiet environment they do quite well, albeit your voice will be particularly metallic.
When the noise increases, however, the Realme Buds Air 3 seem to have a little more difficulty, making conversations a little less smooth.
Noise cancellation and other smart features
La active noise cancellation it works surprisingly well. Of course you will not block all external noise but, by selecting the Loud mode, you will certainly be able to eliminate most of the voices and external sounds, managing to isolate yourself even on public transport, in a bar or in your own office. Well the too Transparency mode which instead lets in noises to help you stay in touch with the surrounding environment.
The Realme Buds Air 3 can also count on other smart features, such as the game mode, which lowers the latency to 88 ms. They can also stay connect to two different devices at the same time and it is possible activate the automatic answer, which allows you to answer the phone by simply removing one of the two earphones from the case.
Realme Buds Air 3 review: conclusion
Le Real Buds Air 3 are a great solution for anyone who wants a good pair of true wireless headphones without breaking the bank. With around 60 euros, you can take home a neat product, with decent audio quality, good battery life and even active noise cancellation.
Pay attention only to calls: if you spend a lot of time on the phone, especially away from home or the office, they may not fully satisfy you.
