Oppo Find X3 Neo follows the path traced by its predecessor. The Find X2 Neo had in fact made a dent in our hearts thanks to a quality / price ratio that had put even the Pro model in difficulty. Of course, they weren't exactly the same - this is evident - but Neo managed to perform well in any sector, camera included. The 2021 model is no different but with an important difference: the cost. The smartphone is presented on the market at 799€ that no, there are not a few. But the question is another: is the amount requested worth? Let's find out together in this one Oppo Find X3 Neo review.
Oppo Find X3 Neo review
The Find X3 series consists of 3 models: the Lite version, on sale for € 449, Neo and then Oppo Find X3 Pro, the super top of the range on the market starting from € 1149,99. Neo positions himself in the middle, both in terms of cost and characteristics. Compared to the Pro model, we lose the 10-bit display and shots, the sensor that acts as a microscope and the particular design of the back cover with the small hill that hides the protrusion of the camera module. What remains? Let's find out together.
Iridescent color and original finish
The first thing that catches the eye is the coloring: the version Galactic Silver it is iridescent with shades ranging from blue to pink to orange based on the light that hits it. To this adding then the finish of the rear glass which is slightly rough. At first it will seem pleasantly strange to you, after which you will get used to it so much that you wonder why smartphones do not all adopt the same solution, a solution that is fingerprint proof.
Is the Galactic Silver model too much for your taste? Don't panic: there is the Starlight Black version.
We remain on the back to talk about the camera module which is raised only by a few millimeters, while on the front we find the 6,55-inch display. It is an AMOLED with a screen / surface ratio of 92,1%. The user experience is so immersive, also thanks to the excellent color rendering and high brightness that allows you to use it in any situation. Let's not forget the 90 Hz, which make the system even more fluid without affecting the autonomy too much. If you are worried about running out of power, however, know that you can always set 60 Hz from the Settings menu.
All this is contained in a slim body - only 7,95 mm - and with an absolutely interesting weight. His 184 grams in fact they make it quite light and usable even for long periods without any consequence.
Perfect for gaming
The processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 865, combined with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, they allow you to do anything, including gaming. The most demanding can therefore try their hand at League of Legends Wild Rift having the certainty of never dropping below 60 fps. Connection permitting. Yours, mind you. In fact, the smartphone has everything you need: 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC, in addition of course to the USB-C input.
To be absent is the 3,5 mm jack but not bad: you can use a pair of wireless earphones or the stereo speaker that offers good quality and quite high volume.
On board we find two 2.250 mAh batteries for a total of 4.500 mAh. Accompanying them is SuperVooc 2.0 which allows you to go from 0 to 100% in about 30 minutes. Don't worry, however, this does not mean that the autonomy is low and is balanced by fast charging. Actually Oppo Find X3 Neo he performed well even during very busy days, taking us in the evening without any difficulty.
The operating system is Android 11 with ColorOS 11.2 che has reached a level of maturity that guarantees excellent performance and a good variety of additional tools such as the Phone Manager for smartphone optimization in a few taps. There is no lack of it Space Games which allows you to change some vital settings to get the best out of your gaming sessions; Find X3 Neo's resources are therefore concentrated on the title open at that moment, with the possibility of changing notifications and improving touch responsiveness.
And the camera?
On the front of the camera we have a 32 megapixel front sensor while on the back we find:
- the main 50 MP, a Sony IMX766 with optical and electronic stabilization;
- the 16 MP wide angle;
- the 13 MP telephoto lens;
- the 2 MP macro.
But how does the camera behave? The main sensor behaves just like that of the Oppo Find X3 Pro, ensuring excellent shots even at sunset. Autofocus is also excellent, always very reactive, as well as the contribution offered by the double stabilization.
The wide angle instead loses the autofocus and distorts the edges a little but overall the shots are enjoyable.
On the other hand, the telephoto lens, useful but not excellent, and the macro, from which, however, you should not expect great miracles.
The video front is very good, in 4K, at 60 fps and with optical and electronic stabilization.
