In the next few days, Chrome users will start receiving notifications to update their browser to version 81. The update makes the browser more secure, with 32 security fixes, as Google states on its blog.
The update was to be released on March 17, but it was eventually postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and some of the planned features were eventually carried over to future releases. And this decision has in fact also interrupted the cycle of technological planning, forcing Google to abandon version 82, migrating the respective innovations to patch 83.

One of the novelties of the new version is the notification system, which becomes less intrusive for users. While browsing, notifications generated by apps and websites will no longer disturb the user. This limitation will be effective especially for incoming notifications from the chat app, emails with unread messages and social media.
NFC tag reading will be done directly from Chrome
According to Zdnet, this version it also starts NFC web tests, that is, reading NFC tags via the Chrome browser. This function will allow you to use smartphones and tablets to interact with the tags to get more information, for example the history of a work of art in a museum or product assistance in a supermarket, or even read the credentials to have access to a event. With features compatible with various browsers, in the future it will no longer be necessary to install applications dedicated to reading NFC tags.
This feature is intended for developers of features based on the NFC web standard, in order to create the appropriate interactions and compatibility and provide feedback to improve this technology.
