MSI Optix MAG251RX: a clean and minimal design
Unlike many of its cousins, the monitor MSI Optix MAG251RX doesn't sport too flashy a look. Instead, it is a product quite sober, yet captivating. The basic livery is completely black, with one brushed texture on the back and the edges are barely noticeable. The frameIn fact, it is present only on the lower edge, while it is practically absent on the other sides. To be seen, therefore, it seems enough small and compact, yet it is enough to have an excellent performance in the game, especially if you play on very small desks.
The back, in addition to having a brushed texture, it also contains an RGB LED lighting. Unfortunately this light source is somewhat of an end in itself, as it is not powerful enough to illuminate the surface behind the monitor. All lighting is managed through the Mystic Light system, but can also be handled comfortably through the OSD (the menu inside the monitor itself). Also on the back we also find the MSI home symbol, the gray Dragon on a red background and the words "Gaming Esports".
At the level structural, the MSI monitor looks pretty good, looks solid and sturdy. The base also feels quite solid and supports the screen perfectly, with no wobbles or signs of sagging. The only real flaw is the absence of a 360 degree adjustment. The support, in fact, allows the classics height and inclination adjustments but does not allow rotary movement in no sense. The stand is really easy to insert and anchoring is done by means of four simple screws.

Connectivity and management
Let's start immediately with the description of connectivity which is really excellent, varied and easily accessible. On the back, on the bottom of the monitor, we find a series of ports: una USB Type-C, due HDMI 2.0 e una Display Port 1.2. USB Type-C supports DP Alt mode, but the power output is limited to just 15 watts. This means that it is not enough for all laptops. On the side of the monitor, however, there is a USB hub, excellent for connecting peripherals. 
On the back, moreover, the joystick is present to access the OSD menu. This is access to all features of the monitor, such as the refresh and change of presets (gaming mode, FPS, RPG, Film, etc). Accessing is easy and intuitive. Just move the small red lever slightly and we will be able to enter and modify everything in a few simple clicks.
Lastly, the MSI Optix MAG251RX monitor does not have speakers. The choice may seem bizarre, but it's not at all. The monitor is designed for an audience of competitive gamers, who naturally have an adequate set of headphones. Going to install speakers might have been a waste of money.
A respectable panel

The 1ms response time is probably a bit underestimated, also because we are talking about an IPS panel. Really some of the best TNs can't really get to 1ms, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work well, far from it. Especially if you are a competitive player, not a professional one, you will hardly notice a broader response.
The refresh is very good indeed and it is very useful if accompanied by an excellent surrounding hardware. With good configurations, in fact, you can easily reach 200/240 FPS. If you can keep this average stable, we recommend that you take advantage of the Fastest option, which allows you to minimize ghosting and enjoy the action to the fullest. In case you want to enjoy more demanding titles, however, it is better to keep the settings on Fast.
MSI Optix MAG251RX: is that a yes?
Here is the big question: "MSI Optix MAG251RX yes or no?". In general, there we were really happy with this MSI home monitor. The image quality is truly excellent, even if it is only 1080p. The IPS panel gives excellent colors and pixel density lets have absolutely sharp, sharp and clean images. Another excellent feature is the rate of reaction. Although it is not a TN panel, we have a response time close to 1 ms.
