Motorola Moto g100 review: always satisfying design
Before going into more detail of ours Motorola Moto g100 review, it is good to take a brief external look. From the point of view of the design, the brand made a splash, coming up with a respectable look. It is a beautiful product to look at, which is noticeable while maintaining a certain elegance. The rear shell, made of plastic, has a very particular color: Iridescent Ocean (Blu). This particular finish, which is a bit satin to the touch, he's able to generate light effects particularly beautiful to look at. Based on the angle of incision, we can see several shades of blue or purple, all very bright and on.

The rest of the design is quite sober: always in the back there is the camera, not too protruding (top left) and the Motorola logo (in the center). On the cornice, also made in plastic, we find the speakers, the input for the 3.5 mm jack and theType C input on the bottom. On the right side we have the button for adjusting the volume and the one for turning it on and off. The same is equipped with the capacitive fingerprint sensor. On the opposite side, however, there are the SIM compartment and the button dedicated to Google Assistant.
Le smartphone size is not exactly small: 168,38 x 73,97 x 9,69 mm, for a weight of 207 g. This results in a slight difficulty, for small hands, in reaching all parts of the display and the Google Assistant key.
A large display and good resistance
La structure di Motorola Moto g100 is good, although its made in plastic. In general we have not noticed particular problems of resistance to pressure and stress. The mobile phone shows no signs of frailty, not even to read twists.
Lo screen is not an AMOLED: it is, instead, a 6,7” IPS LCD, with a resolution FHD + (2520 x 1080) e pixel density of 420. The refresh is 60 Hz, but it can push itself, in an intelligent way, even at 90 Hz. This works ensures good battery life. Although it is a simple IPS, the resolution and quality are really good. We have very bright and vivid colors, the images are sharp and the glance is great. Brightness also plays a good role in all of this, making it easy to read on the display even in good outdoor light. The distribution of light and colors is uniform and this allows for an excellent rendering in every part of the screen.

We continue ours Motorola Moto g100 review with the analysis of its hardware component. As mentioned at the beginning, the smartphone features one Snapdragon 870, an extremely performing octa-core processor. He is accompanied by one Adreno GPU 650, 8 GB of RAM e 128 GB of storage memory. Memory is expandable up to 1 TB thanks to MicroSD. These are respectable characteristics, able to please everyone. Of course, perhaps this is not a mobile phone aimed at the most extreme gaming, but it is still a device capable of performing well even in video games. Motorola, However, he aimed, for its top of the range, to a slightly different audience: that of workers. It demonstrates this with its function Ready for, a desktop mode which will satisfy travelers above all. To test him, therefore, I took him to the workplace and I have some tested his readiness in engineering.
A week as an engineer with Motorola
My work often forces me to move and having a laptop is extremely necessary. Sometimes, however, this can be cumbersome or ineffective in every situation. My position as an engineer invites me to spend a lot south field weather, do many photos and videos which then translate into presentations to show to colleagues. The Motorola Moto g100 was meant for workers and thus, this is how I wanted to test it.
Let's start immediately from its fluidity and its resistance, both excellent. I've never had a problem navigating the interface, switching from one application to another. There were no slowdowns when switching frequently from calls to viewing files and photos. On this Motorola has managed to do some good: during my calls it was very easy to browse through the documentation or emails, without having to wait for endless uploads or smartphone locks.
Desktop mode
La Ready for software function is the real highlight of this smartphone. Using it is really simple, just plug in the adapter USB Type-C / HDMI, which comes in the box, to a monitor or TV and that's it. Once the connection is made, we will have the possibility to choose four different modes: video calling, gaming, TV and Desktop. The latter proved to be the most interesting from a working point of view.
With the Desktop function, in fact, we have could transform our Moto g100 into a real computer portable. Motorola, in fact, has in fact recreated an Android version for the desktop that we were able to control at will. Once the connection was made, in fact, we were able to navigate the work environment using the phone as a trackpad.
The function was extremely useful and interesting, as well as simple to use. Imagine, in fact, having to go to production to visualize a problem, take pictures and then run and show it with a presentation in a conference with your team. I didn't need the laptop; I only needed to bring my mobile phone and cable and everything was immediate. I have took pictures, desktop mode started and started the presentation on the big shared screen in the meeting room. Nothing could be simpler, easier and more functional.
A fluid interface, very different from the stock one
THEMoto g100 interface is Motorola My UX which, however, does not differ too much from a Android 11 stock. We have the ability to customize the icons, as we have already seen with Motorola Moto g10, but nothing more striking. This is a detail that could leave custom lovers a little dumbfounded, but that could instead satisfy the supporters of the basic versions.
As regards, however, fluidity and use, we were pleasantly satisfied. The cell phone has always responded in a manner fast; switching between apps was easy and we didn't see any particular issues while using it. No problem even going from the Ready for function to the use of the smartphone in classic mode. In short, a clean, simple and functional interface.
Little space for photography
In order not to miss anything, we also took a look at the photographic sector. Although Motorola is not launching a mobile aimed at this, it is good to mention it briefly. The Moto g100 has a 64 MP main camera with up to 8x digital zoom. We also have one on the rear wide-angle camera da 16 MP.

In general, the mobile is complete and functional; there is a beautiful design, it is not too heavy and has a large . The colors are good, the resolution also and the image quality like, even if it is not an AMOLED. There 5000 mAH battery allows us to arrive safely at the end of the day even after intense use.
La Ready for function is the real gem of this smartphone that proves itself suitable for work. It has asimple but fluid interface. It is perfect in the workplace, especially if your work requires traveling and using laptops. Thanks to the desktop mode, you won't need to carry anything too bulky with you: your smartphone and cable will be more than enough.
The price is not the lowest, the Motorola Moto g100, in fact, is sold for around 500 €. It is definitely a ottimo prodotto, definitely suitable for work, which, perhaps, could revise the launch price a bit.
