The tablet will be available starting May 26 and promises performance never seen before in an Amazon tablet. Our Amazon Fire HD 10 review
Design
The Fire HD 10 features the same design as its smaller siblings with a solid black plastic body but handy with only 465 grams of weight. The screen, as the name suggests, is of 10 inches which guarantees a smooth Full HD quality da 1080p.
On the left side (if you use the tablet vertically) there are two large speakers of excellent quality to be able to listen to music or watch your favorite TV series. On the upper side, on the other hand, there is the on and off button, the button that adjusts the volume, a 3,5mm inlet jack and USB connector for charging, finally type C. On the right side of the Tablet we also find the entrance for one SD memory card, to increase the capacity of the Tablet.
In general, the body of the Tablet gives a feeling of resistance but there is no type of official certification regarding strength or waterproofing therefore, it is always recommended to buy a case especially if the smallest ones use it. As we have seen, the design does not differ much from the previous models: softer lines flank the typical style of Amazon's Fire, minimal and elegant.

Performances
In addition to the size and quality of the screen, a big step forward within the Fire family has been made in the area of performance. This model, in fact, boasts a Octa-core 2,0 GHz processor, with 3 GB of RAM that guarantee performances never seen in these models. The processor makes the Much smoother tablet and suitable for multitasking compared to the HD 8, which we remember having a 2,0 GHz Quad-core and 2GB of RAM.
Also in this model there is the Amazon's operating system, the Fire OS 5.5 which, despite the updates and improvements, has the same limitations as the previous models, i.e. not having the same possibilities as Android devices. The most recent version of the However, Fire OS guarantees excellent fluidity while switching from one app to another, excellent vision of the browser native Silk it's a great reactivity. To complete the Tablet we also think about an improved photographic sector compared to previous models, in fact we find one 2MP front camera and a 5MP rear camera, enough to use video calling software and the like.
In terms of memory instead, the Tablet will be available in a 32 GB and a 64 GB version. The memories of both versions can, however, be expanded thanks to the SD slot that will allow you to increase the memory up to 1 TB.
Autonomy and connectivity
Improvements also from the point of view of autonomy thanks to a wide battery from 6300 mAH which guarantees an autonomy of 12 hours of reading, surfing the Internet, watching videos and listening to music. Obviously the performance can vary enormously if, for example, you are using heavier applications for a long time like some video games. In any case, the battery charges from 0% to 100% in approximately 4 hours while the device is in standby.
As for connectivity, the tablet it can only be connected to a 2,4 and 5,0 GHz Wi-Fi network. This means that you will not be able to insert a SIM to connect the Fire HD 10 to 4G.
Amazon Fire HD 10 sul campo
We tested the new Amazon Fire HD 10 for a few weeks and let it do everything. The big step forward of this device is obviously the screen size and graphics enhancements that concern him. We still find some side edges a bit excessive, but the video quality manages to distract us from this flaw. We are talking about 10,1 "(25,6 cm), 1080p resolution (1920 × 1200) with over 2 million pixels (224 ppi) which ensure bright and vividly colored images. We have seen many movies and TV series on our Fire HD 10 in excellent video quality and decent audio quality from the two speakers.
We used Amazon's Fire HD 10 for too play video games on the Amazon store, tra The Sims, Guns of Glory e Hearthstone. THE 3 GB of RAM they are able to handle most games well even if some of these, especially with the graphics settings set to maximum, risk rslow down the performance a lot. On his side the tablet has a game mode which is activated automatically every time you open a game. In this mode, device memory and performance are optimized, notifications are hidden, and Alexa is not active.
Excellent battery performance which, despite considerable use of the device, guaranteed a considerable autonomy. Used for most of the day even with heavy applications, the battery has always managed to reach the end of the evening and beyond. Also included in the package is a 9w charger with USB type C input that allows you to fully charge the tablet in a few hours.
The great but ...
Despite being a new model, which has only just arrived in Italy, Amazon's Kindle Fire HD 10 still lags behind many tablets out there. A 3GB RAM is now highly outdated and forms the basis for any mid-range smartphone. It must be said, however, that the versatility of the device and the price, the workhorse of Fire products, certainly make it a considerable competitor.
A sore point also from the point of view of the cameras, far behind the average, but, even in this case, we must consider the device as a whole. In fact, we will not find ourselves photographing the most important memories of our life with this Tablet. The cameras can in fact be used for some videoconferencing, a task for which they lend themselves very well.
However, the limitations given by the Amazon Fire OS 5.5 operating system are not indifferent. We can forget the PlayStore and part of the applications that we find on Android. The Amazon market is still too bare and risks leaving many users disappointed. We will not find the YouTube, Google Chrome, Twitch, Audible, TimVision or NowTV application. Some alternatives are present but we expected more progress than previous versions.

Amazon's Kindle Fire HD 10 review in a nutshell
The Kindle Fire HD 10 surprised us positively. A bigger, more powerful and performing Tablet than the others that, to be honest, was missing in the Amazon Fire family. After the American launch, the Fire HD 10 finally arrives in Italy and promises to be one of the best budget tablets on the market. The defects are not lacking and the Fire OS operating system leaves a bitter taste in the mouth, but the fact remains that we are faced with an excellent device suitable for everyone, simple to use and super versatile.
Prices and availability
The Kindle Fire HD 10 will be available on Amazon Italy starting from May 26th. Of the device are present two versions: from 32GB of memory, priced at € 149,99 and 64GB of memory, priced at € 189. In case you want to not have any kind of advertising on the opening screen of the device, the price goes up by about 20 € for both versions.
