Synology Inc. has announced the launch of its new Diskstation DS720 +, with two expandable bays, and DS420 +, with four bays. The new devices are designed to facilitate file sharing, speed up video streaming, and provide easy photo management for both home and work.
Easy workload management
Synology's new Plus series offers up to 143% faster responsiveness in apps1 and a performance improvement of over 15% 2 on computer-intensive tasks, allowing you to work faster and more efficiently. Using the two M.2 cache slots you can improve read and write access by 20.
Simplified backups
Synology backup solutions are easily configurable and run efficiently in the background, freeing up the time needed for manual backup processes. File recovery is simplified by the scheduling, multiple versioning and flexible rotation of storage capabilities offered by Synology NAS.
Sharing files anytime, anywhere
The Plus Series lets you easily sync media files to a wide variety of digital devices and operating systems, making it easy to stream video to friends or family, as well as HD editing. In the same way it is possible to configure access for selected users or for the entire public.
Availability
The devices are available through Synology's partner and partner network and will have a 5-year warranty available with the optional EW201 package.

The DS920 + has 133% faster web page responsiveness than previous units and also increases its speed in computing tasks by 15%. This optimizes file management and backup creation. Furthermore, it can work in the background, optimizing times and facilitating processes.
The NAS has four hard drive slots, reaching 64TB of storage space and facilitating file security via RAID 1. For those businesses that need more space, the DS920 + can expand its capacity up to 144TB via a Synology DX517 expansion unit.
Expandable cache to address the challenges of private storage
The DS920 + has two integrated M.2 SSD slots that allow you to take full advantage of Synology's new SSD solutions. In this way, expanding the NAS cache is particularly simple, achieving input and output speeds up to 20 times faster than previous models.
