Suzuki Hayabusa 2021, aesthetics: sharper, but still the same
Let's start immediately with the aesthetic analysis of this new, very bad Hayabusa of third generation. Although LED headlights, technology and a painstaking aerodynamic study have been added to the party, Suzuki Hayabusa 2021 is still recognizable as a "peregrine falcon". For those who do not know, in fact, Hayabusa is the Japanese translation of the fastest bird of prey and animal in the world, capable of reaching 330 km / h in a dive.
As you can see, all three generations of Hayabusa are perfectly recognizable and they share the same chubby and peaceful style, very different from that of a more classic rival super sports car. The fairings are important and reassuring, as if to say “I can do 300 per hour, but I'm not a fire-breathing monster”. The aesthetic is aggressive, pushed forward as if to attack the road, but never intimidating.
The introduction of the new central LED headlight and the generous renewal front fairing, which protects the rider's body from the air. Everything in Hayabusa's aesthetics was designed to offer maximum aerodynamics. The rear-view mirrors, the small plexiglass windshield and also the imposing rear tail are designed in such a way as to have the least aerodynamic resistance possible, which reaches Superbike levels despite much higher dimensions and front section. To give you an example of aerodynamic care, the levers were also treated in the wind tunnel: they are in fact perforated to offer the lowest possible aerodynamic resistance
The purely aesthetic details also have an aerodynamic function. The chrome V-shaped moldings on the hull, which resemble the wings of a peregrine falcon, also have the task of removing all turbulence from the pilot's knees. At the rear then the tail is very raised and offers enough space for the passenger, and at its side the two huge silencers stand out, which are responsible for transforming the 190 hp of the 1.3 into noise.
The alloy wheels are brand new, with 7-spoke design, while they are available for the bodywork two two-tone combinations, Black with Gold accents or Gray with Red accents, such as the Hayabusa logo and the impressive Suzuki badge.
The mechanics of Suzuki Hayabusa 2021: Euro 5 engine that focuses on torque and elasticity
We have analyzed the aesthetics of the new Suzuki Hayabusa, then let's see what these large fairings hide. The engine has remained almost unchanged compared to the second generation of 2008: we are talking about the 4 cylinders in line of 1340 cm³ water cooled. A conscious choice on the part of Suzuki, who knows that one of Hayabusa's most popular components is the engine, different from all those of the rival super sports cars.
An engine that offers a lot of power and nastiness, but that has its ace up its sleeve in the incredible elasticity and torque at the bottom, which is also fun on the road where it is the torque at the bottom that is fun and not the power at the highs, which is important on the track. Precisely for this Suzuki, in conjunction with the homologation of the engine to the regulations € 5, Has modified the power and torque curve of its 1.3.

To achieve this, Hamamatsu technicians have modified almost all engine components. The pistons are new and lighter by 26 grams, as are the connecting rods, the tailpipes (2 kg lighter), the two camshafts, the crankshaft and also the transmission. The accelerator is also “by wire”, without a physical cable, for a further weight saving.
The performance of Suzuki Hayabusa 2021: acceleration to scream and touches the 300 km / h
All these innovations have led to an increase in performance despite the 7 HP and 5 Nm less. Acceleration 0-100 km / h is covered in just 3,2 seconds, 0,2s faster than the old Hayabusa, while acceleration over 200 meters is 0,1 s faster. The top speed, on the other hand, remains self-limiting at 299 km / h as per recent tradition, stopping at a breath from 300 km / h.

We talked about the driving mode selector, and in fact Suzuki Hayabusa 2021 adopts the system Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-α) which allows you to select three predefined driving modes, Active, Basic and Comfort, and three customizable modes.
These driving modes configure the calibration of various electronic driving and safety systems, which make it one of the most technological in the segment, even more than Suzuki's "classic" super sports car, the GSX 1000 R. New Hayabusa 2021 has a six-axis inertial platform, and well 5 adjustable safety devices. Together with the now inevitable Traction Control that can be calibrated on 10 levels and on Off, there are the anti-wheelie, the power adjustment system, the engine brake control system and the Quick Shift electronic gearbox, both uphill and climbing.
In terms of comfort and active safety, there is no shortage of Cruise Control, speed limiter, Launch Control, as well as systems to avoid unwanted stubble, the nailing warning and two systems for starting help, the Hill Start Control for hill starts and Low RPM Assist for low speed starts.
All these systems were then renamed by Suzuki Italy with gods Italianized names very easy to understand. The Launch Control, for example, is called "Partiarazzo", while the anti-wheelie is called "Giùlaruota", or power management becomes "Manage power". A nice operation that makes you smile, but that helps to understand in a second what each system is for.

In fact, the weight is not really very low: let's talk about 264 kg, having a perfect 50/50 distribution between rear and front. The weight has also been reduced by 2 kg compared to the previous generation, which however did not have all the anti-pollution and electronic systems. An excellent business card, which combined with the 43 mm KYB front fork and fully adjustable KYB rear shock absorber should guarantee the right comfort together with bomb-proof stability.
To confirm the attention on comfort there is the handlebar moved back by 12 mm towards the pilot, in order to give a less loaded driving position on the wrists and forearms and also allow longer journeys. At the level of brakes then there is no lack of ABS who has bada i freni Brembo da 320 mm. The braking system is then assisted by the CBS combined braking, which distributes the braking done with the right lever between the front and rear brake. Then there is the system that helps braking when leaning, perfect for moments of excited driving.
Finally, the tires are also specific for Suzuki Hayabusa 2021: the Japanese Bridgestone has in fact created a Battlax HyperSport S22 specific for her, with carcass and compound studied ad hoc for the particular characteristics of Hayabusa.
