SFR: subscribers' emails pass for spam at Orange, discontent is mounting

After its concerns about quality of service or termination, SFR finds itself at the heart of a new controversy. For several weeks, emails sent by customers to fixed internet offers have not been delivered to their recipients if they are Orange subscribers. Emails are considered spam.

SFR never stops having to manage crises. This time it is a technical problem related to the emails of subscribers that raises the discontent. Customers with SFR fixed internet offers are unable to send their emails to recipients who have subscribed to Orange. They are in fact considered spam. UFC-Que Choisir shares the explanations of one of its subscribers:




The messages I send do leave my outbox, but two or three days later, I receive an error message telling me that they have not been accepted by the Orange server.

Some subscribers explain on the SFR forum that other email addresses, in particular at Wanadoo, La Poste or Libertysurf, are affected by the problem. According to UFC-Que Choisir the problem would come from the configuration of SFR's servers. But the operator remains evasive as to the origin of these concerns.

Orange helps SFR solve the problem

SFR is content for the moment to explain that the problem is identified and being resolved. The ISP reassures its customers as best it can: according to him, the emails reach their recipients despite the error messages received. Information difficult to verify.

For its part, Orange explains that it has provided SFR with the necessary technical information to help them solve this problem and reconfigure their servers. The operator with the red square promises a resolution during the week, without further details.
