The wait is finally over! Samsung the much talked about announced today Galaxy Note 8, successor to the unfortunate Note 7 that the Korean company had had to withdraw from the market a few weeks after its launch.
Many, indeed many, the points in common with Samsung Galaxy S8, starting from the design that is reminiscent in all respects of that of the other flagship phone of the technological giant. To distinguish them we find the slightly less curved display at the edges and the less rounded corners, while the choice of materials remains unchanged, with the glass which also this time is the master. However, it should be noted that the oleophobic treatment of the device seems to be insufficient even in the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, since during our test it was filled with fingerprints at the speed of light.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8: the technical characteristics
Under the shell we find the Exynos 8895 processor accompanied by well 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory. Maybe a little bit considering the cost and the level of this device, but don't worry, a microSD will be enough to add up to 256GB of storage space.
Obviously, the latest generation WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and my beloved USB Type-C input are inevitable; also present the fingerprint reader and the iris scan, just like it happens on the Galaxy S8. There is also certification IP68, which allows it to work even under water and which is also valid for the S Pen.
The battery instead is from 3.300 mAh with wireless and fast charging, so it will only take you a few minutes to have hours of autonomy to exploit.
Finally, the operating system is Android 7.1.1 with the Samsung Experience 8.1. Inside the device you will then find the voice assistant of the Korean company, Bixby, along with the inevitable Samsung applications, including the popular Knox which promises to keep your data safe.
The display, the ergonomics and the camera
Huge display of this Galaxy Note 8: let's talk about a 6,3-inch Super AMOLED with resolution Quad HD +. The format is that of Galaxy S8 so you will end up with a long but narrow device, which allows you to hold it easily in your hand. Of course, don't expect to reach everything with your beloved thumb or to keep it nimbly in your pocket, but when you have to answer the phone, browse the web or read emails, you won't have much difficulty.
Double then the rear camera of this Samsung Galaxy Note 8. We are faced with two 12 megapixel sensors with LED flash, wide angle and F / 1.7 aperture, while the front camera is satisfied with 8 megapixel, Automatic HDR and the exact same aperture, which will allow you to take bright selfies in any light condition.
The dual rear camera, however, is not the only novelty. On board you will find new stickers to have fun with and the Live Focus mode.
The inevitable nib
Of course it wouldn't be a Galaxy Note without its stylus. There S Pen it is housed inside the device and is easily removable, so it will only take you a few seconds to be immediately ready to take notes.
Once removed from its housing, the dedicated software will automatically activate and you can choose what to do: classic notes, live messages, the ability to write on the current screen and much more.
