Rest: From Ashes has had another new update, bringing in a new dungeon called Leto's Lab. There's also the usual kind of changes, fixes, tweaks, balance tweaks and everything you know and love about updates. Because you love the release notes as well, read on for all the details of version 216106.
Construction number: 216106
GENERAL
DEVELOPER COMMENT: This new dungeon can be found dynamically in Ruined Earth both in the main campaign and in the Adventure mode itself. Explore this hidden laboratory and uncover the dark secrets of Dr. Leto Apostolakis' experiments. Take a trip to Leto's lab and see if you can brave the horrors lurking there.
- Lots of collision fixes and tweaks
- Dozens of performance updates and fixes in Rhom
- LOD corrects for performance
- Dozens of animation updates
- Removed many unused audio files for optimization
- Duplicate foliage removal
DEVELOPER COMMENT: This time around we've made a lot of behind-the-scenes changes to improve in-game performance.
BUG CORRECTIONS
- Fixed Soul Anchor disappearing from inventory
- Fixed issue with UNREAL with VOIP causing crashes
- Bleed effects no longer appear when shooting in clouds / fog
- Enabling the listen option when starting an offline game and then going online
- Fixed transmitter for some mud effects
- Deletion of a key association for certain rear doors
- Fixed a handful of typos
- Fixed an issue causing some values to display incorrectly
- Added a fix for trait / achievement persistence
- Fixed a rare case where Wailing Woods lost its weak point
- Added a fix for scenarios that caused infinite area loads
DEVELOPER COMMENT: No more bug fixes! Not much to say except that we're still working on fixing as many bugs as we can between fixes. Sometimes they're big, sometimes they're small, but they add up!
QUALITY OF LIFE
- Added verification and notification to warn players of incorrect data and the ability to reset them when detected
- Added limited level classes to avoid leveling up in Adventure mode and in other people's games
- Simulacrums can now drop into adventure mode
- Minimum dead zone can now be set to 0 for consoles
DEVELOPER COMMENT: Player data (on PC) has been corrupted online by "players with questionable intentions". We have implemented a system startup to help resolve issues affecting data and allow users to avoid ending up with changed data. We also fixed an oversight that prevented Simulacrum from dropping in Adventure mode, reduced the minimum dead zone setting on the console to 0, and adjusted the way pre-leveled gear dropped and affected lower level players.
ARTICLES
DEVELOPER COMMENT: In an effort to make more items viable, we've made some minor changes to a few of them. These aren't massive changes that totally change how things work, but rather a nudge in the right direction. We have bigger changes for upcoming articles in a future patch!
- Gravity Stone: Reduces the number of nearby enemies from 3 to 2
- Gravity Stone: Range increased from 8 to 10m
- Gravity Stone: Reduced damage increase from 25% to 20% to compensate for easier access to the buff
- Anguish Boulder: Improved movement speed from 25% to 20%
- Sagestone: Increased EXP bonus from 15% to 25%
- Scavenger Ball: increased scrap metal recovery from 25% to 35%
ARMOR
- Leto: Added Leto's armor
- Leto: Added Abdominal Flop Damage (Equivalent to Hammer Hit)
- Leto: Added single / slow backdash
DEVELOPER COMMENT: Explore the mysteries of Leto's lab to uncover Leto's armor, the heaviest armor set in the game. The oft-requested belly flop is now a reality (with the damage caused by AOE to the landing).
- Drifter: Increased the progression speed improvement of the target 25 piece from 50% to 1%
DEVELOPER COMMENT: We wanted to make sure players feel the impact of improving AIM's speed… so we're making it better!
MODS
- Shimmering Cloak: Adjusted duration so that it doesn't last indefinitely (until broken)
- Shimmering Cloak: Adjusted total amount of damage absorbed
- Twinkle Cloak: Adjusted mod power build requirements
- Glitter Cloak: Added text explaining that it prevents the roller from being spread out
DEVELOPER COMMENT: It wasn't officially released yet, but some players were accessing it through nefarious means. We've made some adjustments to the Flicker Cloak beta to get it ready for release!
CONSUMABLES
DEVELOPER COMMENT: Just like the small tweaks, we've made a few tweaks to Adrenaline and Frenzy Dust to make them a bit more appealing. For Frenzy Dust, we also wanted to better represent how it works (and how it works). Players have to stay in the dust when thrown to get the buff (as it always has been) and it wears off a lot faster to show that it's not a constant aura that you can get in and out of.
- Adrenaline: increased movement speed from 10% to 15%
- Adrenaline: Added 25% increase in target walking speed
- Adrenaline: the duration increased from 30 to 45 years
- Frenzy Dust: Shortens the duration of the mist by 10 to 2 seconds to clarify that this is a 1x buff and not an aura
- Frenzy Dust: Fixed buff to refresh when using another Frenzy Dust.
MISC
- I brought Wasteland Goodboy goodies from the Earth. He liked them a little.
DEVELOPER COMMENT: Maybe too much even ...
